Greene went on to say that since members at the hearing brought up the subject of white supremacy, she wanted to point out that the real white supremacists are people who support abortion, since "20 million Black babies" have been aborted in America "since Roe vs Wade."
"Is this funny to you?" Greene asked. "Is babies being murdered in the womb funny to you? Because you're smirking and laughing at me right now."
"What's not funny are the Black people and Hispanic people and Jewish people and Muslim people who have been murdered in synagogues, in church, in supermarkets, in mosques, by white supremacists," witness Amy Spitalnick replied.

Boebert is a different story. Shes showboated so much that she almost lost what I understand to be a solid red District. Well see how her divorce plays there.

(10,434 posts)If the rest of her bullshit didn't unseat her, that probably won't either. Divorce is fairly normal.
She may have been worried, but all the last election did was show her that she is probably permanent. And she acts like it.

There are plenty of traitor (Confederate) flags in that area.

After more gerrymandering, I'm in district 6. My previous district was represented by Andrew Clyde. Previously represented by Democrat Lucy McBath, the 6th district's boundaries were redrawn following the 2020 census to be significantly more Republican-leaning than it had been in the previous decade. We have a lot of nasty crap happening in GA, thanks to Kemp, et al.

Marjorie is "superlative" in so many ways, it's hard to know just where to begin... How shall we count the ways, lol. She's by far the most insipid Nazi that I've ever had the displeasure of hearing speak. So there's that...

(16,497 posts)All that crap she spouted about abortion made it sound like black and brown women are being targeted in some way. Does she think so-called "left wing extremists" are out kidnapping black and brown women and giving them abortions against their will? Does she not realize that all kinds and colors of women choose abortion for a variety of reasons, most of which are rooted in the need to avoid having their lives blown up by an unplanned pregnancy?
Those are all rhetorical questions, of course. MTG, like other extreme forced birthers, probably believes the trope that all abortions are both highly dangerous physically and highly injurious psychologically, and that women only have abortions because they are "tricked" into it by people who get off on tricking women and "murdering babies." The only way someone can stay that ignorant is by actively avoiding all sources of information that present different viewpoints, and that is a truly pathetic way for anyone to live their life, much less someone whose job it is to participate in formulating policy and writing legislation for an entire nation. UGH.

(47,583 posts)when racists try to make liberals look like they're racists. This routine of theirs is getting old already, but I suppose some of their supporters still buy into it.
You know, I'm quite sure that Greene would have gotten an abortion if she became pregnant at an inconvenient time. She pays lip service to the issue, but I don't think she really believes a word she says. It is all performance, all the time.
