He will be their token that they will cheer the announcement and saying look we are not racist. He checks all the boxes for voting repugnant and is a bible thumper.

Scott’s just as crazy as the rest of the party, but he gives the MAGAts an aura of legitimacy (‘See, we’re not racist!’). They think they’re ‘owning the libs’ by daring us to criticize him. Personally, I think Trump will die or be found guilty of sedition before the primaries, and DeSantis is so authoritarian and unlikeable that even the MAGAts can see it. They need to nominate someone, and it almost has to be a wingnut. Scott may be the puppet that they’re looking for.

I think Tim Scott is their best chance of winning the general election. But I don't think he can win the primary.

This will be just like '16 when all of those Republican candidates for the nomination had such big egos in believing that they were the one to stop Trump.
Scott Walker was right when he was the first to drop out and advised others to do the same to stop Trump, but they would't listen. Trump will again win winner take all primary victories with a plurality of the vote and get nominated again.
