Jason Woliner, the director of Borat 2, on why solidarity during this WGA strike is crucial

Six-tweet thread starting with the one below. He rarely posts on Twitter - which he refers to as "this shitty dying platform" - and he posted his message in a series of screen grabs, which I'll copy below.

You didn't specify whom you meant as "he" in your previous message. What you said highplainsdem May 2023 #5
Ohh no definitely not the tweet author he deserves credit for speaking about this MutantAndProud May 2023 #6
Thanks for explaining it wasn't Jason Woliner. I didn't think it could be, but highplainsdem May 2023 #7

I ended up getting physically assaulted for not supporting the corporate line he (and his partners/friends) did

is defamatory, so please make it clear you were NOT referring to Jason Woliner.

You don't need to name anyone else, and I'd advise against doing so. But I don't want your very vague comment misread as referring to Woliner, since this thread is about him.

100%.

It would be inadvisable for me to say with whom I was entangled at this time, I’ll leave it at that. It has been reported, and is known about, but it’s sort of a ‘silent secret’ at this point within certain circles.

it was important to make it clear that it wasn't him.

And as I said, I'd advise against naming whoever assaulted you, in this thread. You said it was reported, and that's what's important. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I didn’t think that was implied but very much so on board with making that clear.

And yeah… that would be a bad idea. It’s been an interesting couple of years for me, I appreciate the sympathy

I’m glad to see a lot of this stuff being talked about more openly. My case has been pretty tied up at the local/state level, not sure about federal since it’s stonewalled as is.

2. What “broadcasters” / streamers whatever are not on the struck list ?

3. What political pressure can be brought to bear ? Is “it” being brought to bear ?

4. Make your own streamer.
