I am not and have never been a fan of Bernie Sanders...However this is one of the best speeches ever.
Go to the link and listen to this segment of Sanders speech as I am unable to copy the video. I know the whole segment is available on utube, however this segment is a must see. It is CLEAR and Concise and on point.

What Bernie did here was go to exact root cause of the situation. This is true radicalism.
Reactionaries are what the GQP have become. Scratch the surface and there is nothing there. There merely react and want the public to knee-jerk react to their simplistic bs. Please do not glorify those morons by calling them radicals as they are reactionaries, constantly deep fried in the fat of their own bs.
Hey, when you're right... you're RIGHT!

(416 posts)for his hypocrisy, and history of stabbing the Democratic Party in the back. Bernie who always uses our resources, yet complains about said resources ....yet doesn't donate leftover Campaign Funds to help elect down ticket Democrats. I still haven't forgotten him at the Convention after losing to Hilary. I hope he has finally changed...
WHY DOESN'T HE JOIN THE PARTY?

(58,785 posts)the attitude expressed toward Democrats. Especially leaders of populist and authoritarian movements, where antagonism toward "establishment" is far more of a driver than a specific ideology, including tRump's.
Yes, he drew idealists also. But if he didn't say what he does and do what he's done, I believe most of the followers who elevated him from the I-Sanders of group senate pictures to 2016 candidate would have looked for someone else. All you have to do is note other figures and groups those supporters listen to, and statements of "surrogates," to see that common element.
Another element common to significant numbers, of course, is socialism, but large numbers don't seem to know what it is (some maybe denying knowing?), suggesting adoption of whatever their current leader calls for.
Those are both extremely common, typical political patterns as old as our democracy, of course. And much older. So not exactly hard to pick up on, especially when augmented to bullhorn strength by anti-Democratic domestic and foreign political warfare.

And on the right, the millions who say with obvious pride in their fiscal responsibility that they vote for "the tRump agenda." Just don't ask them what that is.

FoxNewsSucks
(11,687 posts)Sinema is a backstabber who worked with Moscow Mitch to undermine Joe Biden (the Democrat, remember?) and the Democratic party goals

She also helped the Senator From Coal undermine Biden and the Democrats. That's why people criticize her.
Sanders, on the other hand, has been one of Biden's best supporters and enablers.
I'd take 100 like him any day over more Sinemas. I don't give a damn about the letter after their name, I care what they DO. And in this case, Sanders is the one who's been consistently on our side.

(416 posts)ALL Social Democracies are Capitalists....and so is the Nordic Model
FDR who invented Regulated Capitalism was a HUGE Capitalist.
Social (adjective describes a noun) Democracy (the noun) are all Capitalists
Social (adjective describes a noun) Programs (the noun) are created by Regulated Capitalists inspired by FDR
Social (adjective describes a noun) Media (the noun) is not a online platform for Socialists
Social (adjective describes a noun) Studies (the noun) is not the study of Socialism
Democratic (adjective describes a noun) Socialism (the noun) is Socialism (with supposed elected leadership)
Socialism is the economic platform that opposes ALL **Private Ownership** of the means of production, distribution and exchange for goods...aka it opposes ALL Capitalism. Socialism and Capitalism are Economic platforms ....and Socialism is the economic platform of current Communist countries.
Anyone who supports that private ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange for goods IS a Capitalist...anyone that believes that Capitalism needs guardrails to protect the Working Class...IS a Regulated Capitalist.
Ergo my moniker is RegulatedCapitalistD as I support returning to those Guardrails that make Capitalists countries aka Social Democracies the highest Quality of Life on the planet for the last almost 100 yrs.

(416 posts)Capitalism is the reason
Democratic Socialism is not the same as Social Democracy....LITERALLY
So no I will not stop telling the truth...
From the Oxford Dictionary....the worldwide authoritative source for the English Language (note where it says "noun" )
so·cial·ism
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
"we want a real democratic and pluralist left partyone which unites all those who believe in socialism"
policy or practice based on the political and economic theory of socialism.
"the debate over whether to move away from free markets and toward socialism"
conservatism
(in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.
"socialism is the first stage of the worldwide transition to communism"

(17,604 posts)No one could have said it better and simpler than this. I stand with Bernie on this issue. Will the general public hear this? Will they even hear some snippets of it on the regular newscasts? I would sincerely hope so, but I have my doubts.
Yesterday I posted my thoughts on a thread about the 14th amendment saying that I thought President Biden hadn't completely ruled out the 14th amendment solution when others thought that just because he said he had, that would be the case. I think as long as President Biden knows he'll get the support of his party and with this speech by Bernie, I do still believe that Dark Brandon has played the GOP, and if they think he won't invoke the 14th or they think the public will blame Biden for the mess, I think they have another thing coming.

(36,925 posts)I've said this repeatedly. This includes any attempt at half-fast negotiating such as allowing certain things a pass like military spending. If the GQP wants to play hardball, let them explain to the military industrial complex and everyone else who isn't getting paid as to why they can't do their jobs.
The time for debating spending is during the budgetary process. Give the GQP two bites at the apple and there will be no end to it.

(25,201 posts)Some have feelings of resentment towards Senator Sanders.
Let me say this.
RESENTMENT shuts down your front brain, and puts the old brain in charge.
THAT'S WHY THE GOP "PLATFORM" IS ENTIRELY HATE AND RESENTMENT.
How do I know this?
My own Dad, ripshit to the max that Eugene McCarthy opposed native son Robert Kennedy for the Democratic nomination, went entirely to the nutcase side out of resentment.
RESENTMENT shuts down your front brain, and puts the old brain in charge.
You can't hear the truth, only what reinforces that resentment.

(3,782 posts)It's true that he has sometimes overplayed his hand, but that's largely because so few people even in the Democratic party are willing to support the people over business interests that want to pick our pockets. Even the smartest people can be wrong sometimes in a complicated world. This is a case where Bernie has it down to seven decimal places though and there's no basis to argue with any of his points.
