Sai Varshith Kandula thought nazis have a great history, likes their "authoritarian nature, Eugenics, and their one world order, and likes Hitler, because he was a strong leader, per Secret Service.

I can't read the whole thing without giving them my mail address, which would just lead to more unwanted email than the ridiculous amount I already get, but just knowing there are Nazi sympathizers in India of all places sends chills down my spine. Holy guacamole!

Ironically, Hitler the genocidal maniac who murdered more than six million Jews, who propagated a Nazi ideology that promoted hatred, Aryan racial puritanism and white supremacy continues to find many followers in India, a nation of predominantly brown-skinned people. Here, Hitlers brand of fascism has taken on a distinctly Indian flavour, authenticated with a combination of ethnic hatred and Hindu nationalism, in stark contrast to the principles of ahimsa (non-violence) that accompanied India's freedom struggle.
Recently, browsing through Facebook threw up an eerie shock. "Hari Om Heil Hitler," said a post next to an image of a young Hitler, followed by a paean to Aryan values. The cover picture read, "Aum, Hail Aryan, Hail Aryavart," meaning "Hail Aryans, Hail Land of the Aryans." On display is his German screen name "Kemradschaft Jeet." His feed is full of Nazi insignia with images of Hitler and graphics of Vishnu, a Hindu god known for several reincarnations. "Adolf Hitler, the ultimate avatar," said one image. "Indias Swastika God," said another. Their posts reflect an oft-repeated theory in neo-Nazi web forums, that Hitler was a reincarnation of Vishnu.
Vile anti-Semitic obloquy accompanied it: "Germany is now a Rabbit under the shelter of Jewish Finance," "With the Hollywood movie industry and the majority of U.S. television networks, newspapers and publishing houses Jewish-owned, for nearly 70 years, the demonization of Adolf Hitler has been almost relentless." His friends comment in chorus: "Jai Shree Ram, Heil Hitler" ("Hail Shree Ram, Heil Hitler" ), "Nazi the great," "Hitler was supporter of Indian Nationalist." Many of them shared a YouTube video with over 100,000 hits, entitled "Adolf Hitler, The Greatest Story Never Told," alongside the salutation "Jai Hind" ("Victory to India," an independence-era slogan.)
These posts are a putrid mix of anti-Semitic racism, misogyny and extreme Hindu nationalism. Evoking the widely held myth of Aryan racial superiority (appropriated to refer to "Aryan" Indians) and the Nazi propaganda of the "sacralization of terror, embodied in the Kshatriya code and the Bhagavad-Gita," these posts reflect the belief that Hitler was born to end Kali Yuga, the dark age of Hindu mythology. As one post reads: "If we go to North East [of India] we find mixed races of Mongoloids and many more cases where pure Aryan bloodline was lost." Digging into social media reveals that there is a large and growing community of Indian Hindu Nazis, who are digitally connected to neo-Nazi counterparts across the world.

(11,767 posts)Once in power, the network starts to narrow again. When fascists attain power, they start turning on each other.
Had Hitler been more successful during the war, he would have turned on the Japanese. He had already made statements while praising the Japanese as the "Aryans of the East" clearly placing them below the "true Aryans".
People who identify with perceived power, are typically blind to the fact they will be culled eventually.

(1,527 posts)There is a divide between the southern and northern parts of India. Much of northern India is actually more fair-colored while the southern parts are more darker skin. They spend millions of dollars on skin lightning products. Colorism, a form of racism, exists even among Hindus. They still believe in a caste system more or less. Also, they often consider themselves Aryan. The Nazis even went to Tibet in 1938-1939. Much of the languages of Northern India fall under the Indo-Aryan group. You have to remember, the RSS even admired Hitler/Mussolini before WWII.

(14,259 posts)Following the crash and the release of the suspects name, a wave of accounts on Elon Musks Twitter sought to portray the incident as a false flag or a hoax, echoing similar baseless statements in the aftermath of the mass shooting at a Texas mall earlier this month after the gunman was revealed as an alleged neo-Nazi with SS and swastika tattoos.
Right-wing pundits including Donald Trump Jr and other personalities and accounts on the social media network continue to falsely suggest that news organisations are labelling the crash suspect as a white supremacist in an attempt to undermine both the attack and threats of white supremacist violence.

(1,527 posts)It's a remnant from when they were part of the British Empire. Specifically, there is a huge divide between the north and the south, not just with color, but language. Most of the southern parts, which are mostly dark-skinned, correspond to the Dravidian languages, while the northern parts are mostly light-colored and have the Indo-Aryan languages. They are obsessed with skin-color. They often spend a lot of money on turning their skin white/fair colored. In fact, there is a fascist group in India called the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which means "National Volunteer Organization). They modeled theirs after European fascism, and they are also the main force of the BJP. In fact, until WWII they actually admired Mussolini and Hitler, but they probably still do to this day, albeit implicitly. So the fact that this person did it probably is not all that surprising.

(23,882 posts)My BIL was born in what's now Pakistan near the Afghani border. Family was Hindu and had to flee to India during the partition. One brother became a sikh, one a muslim, and the others Hindu - just in case a religious war killed any non-believers.
I heard many stories about the caste system and the ethnic divides. I hate to see what is happening now under Modi.

(1,527 posts)There were all these people in the US who were xenophobic and racist and the like. Of course, it was ridiculous to us. But what most of us don't realize is that it's a completely different thing for those who are in India or of the Indian diaspora. Her family was a Telugu. They are a Dravidian people found mainly in southern India. They are mostly brown/dark skinned. However, in India, someone of her complexion would have never stood a chance in a beauty contest. But it is not limited to just someone like her, it's anybody who is dark-complexion. They spend millions of US dollars on fairness (i.e. skin whitening) stuff. She would have been considered someone who has low-self esteem and has few friends.
Colorism, a form of racism, is still well and truly prevalent in India, especially when you consider that the Hindu-speaking belt, an Indo-Aryan language along with many others in the group consider themselves the superior language and those that don't speak them are not educated, etc. It's mostly the southern parts of India that speak the Dravidian languages. The Muslim majority states are mostly in the north in Jammu and Kashmir and the far eastern parts. But as I said, fascist groups do exist in India. In fact, Hindu nationalists and white supremacists have many things alike. There is a myth involving Hinduism and Aryan. Also, a lot of India, including the government, supports Russia/Putin. While Nazism/fascism may have started in Europe, in this case ethnic/religious ultranationalism have many things in common. In fact, Hindutva is in many ways very similar to fascist groups in Europe.
We would be naive to think similar groups don't exist in places other than Europe and North America. There are many such groups in South America, especially in Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, Australia/New Zealand has them, Japan and South Korea have a few of them there South Africa has those neo-fascist groups. In fact, Nazism and neo-fascism, while they have a lot in common, Nazism is specifically a form of it involving German, white supremacy. But fascism can come in all types of places. The reality is that what it was defined back in WWII is very different to what it is now. Fascism involves more than just ethnic stuff. The reason it is popular in a lot countries outside of the original origin of Europe is that it opposes liberal democracy, parliamentary system, Marxism, liberalism, communism, socialism, and so on while promoting totalitarianism, authoritarianism, populism, nativism, etc. It's this stuff that really defines it in particular, so fascism is not strictly speaking a Europe-thing anymore.
