Ahate preacher told his churchs congregation that parents who allow their children to have a transgender surgery should be shot in the back of the head and hung from a bridge as an example to the public. However, gender-affirming genital surgeries arent conducted on children.
These comments came from Jason Graber a New Independent Fundamental Baptist (New IFB) preacher at Sure Foundation Baptist Church in Spokane, Washington.
He then pretended to eat his own vomit in front of his congregation to show how serious he was.
Any parent that would have their child, would have a transgender surgery done on them, any parent that would do that, they just need to be shot in the back of the head, Graber said. They need to be convicted in trial and immediately shot in the back of the head. Okay, and then we can string them up above a bridge so that the public can see the consequences of that kind of wickedness.

Actually, he has called for all allies and the GLBT community to be executed.

(28,493 posts)Isn't the original commandment a straight forward "No kill". At least that's what a Jewish friend of mine once said.

Because it's all for killing more often than it's not.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
--Leviticus 20:13
It also commands the murder of disobedient or mouthy children, non-believers, people who follow other religions, witches, blasphemers, false prophets, anyone approaching the tabernacle, anyone working on the Sabbath, the curious, sinners, the families of sinners--and more!

(28,493 posts)I was raised Roman Catholic, and we were absolutely discouraged from reading the Bible on our own.
Somewhere in my 20s I decided I needed to read it. And so I started with the Old Testament. Honestly, Genesis reads like science fiction to someone who while at least nominally Christian, has never ever read it. I did notice the inconsistencies along the way. And at least some of the killing. Can't remember if I got as far as Leviticus, but yeah. The Bible has a lot of stuff in it that ought to horrify decent people who are banning books these days.
Essentially, this is why (while I have my own strong spiritual beliefs) I am utterly opposed to organized religion of any kind.

(10,349 posts)I'm big on the 1st Amendment 'n all - but these hate preachers have gone beyond yelling fire in a crowded theater! As have Muslims who advocate (or carry out)"death to infidels" because of a "fatwah" issued by a preacher halfway around the world.
Does "Freedom of Religion" give constitutional protection to whatever "Holy War" some sketchy preacher wants to wage?

(43,049 posts)Although they would probably ste the doctor is ignorant because he or she doesn't accept the inerrant Bible.
Intersex children are around 1 percent of births in the US and things are rapidly changing. In the old days, the doc would simply snip off the male package, because it was easier, and present the baby girl to the happy parents. Aside from that snippage not always being so easy or apparrent, we are in a new age and even the UN has become involved, so I have no idea what they are doing now.
My point, however, is that preachers have even less idea than I have, but can cause far more damage, so the more decent ones tend to shut up about the whole thing.

And most are obsessed not with being kind and compassionate but with sexuality! At least that was what my mother's version of what Southern Baptists were all about.

(13,582 posts)The chances of finding a message of love, tolerance, peace, and compassion in an American Christian church are slim and few.

(4,741 posts)Because the ones overseas aren't any better.
christians in Serbia were murdering christians in Croatia back in the 90s. Oh, and Muslims in Bosnia & Kosovo. What do you think the difference is between Serbs, Croats, Bosnians and Kosovans, anyway? That Balkan nonsense has always had religion as a major source of conflict.
It was also christians mass-murdering other christians in Rwanda, you know. The Rwandan courts have even convicted multiple christian clergy for killing Tutsi themselves, or assisting in massacres of them. One infamous priest ratted out some 2000 Tutsi who had taking sanctuary in his church, and gave the Hutu permission to bulldoze the building--with the Tutsi still inside. But that's nothing new for catholics. All the way back in 1208 CE, it was Arnaud Amalric, Abbot of Citeaux and papal legate, who gave permission to the Crusader army he was leading to set fire to a church in Béziers, France, where 20,000 (mostly) Cathars had sought sanctuary. Anyone who tried to escape was hacked to death by Amalric's army. His exact command to start the killing was, "Slaughter them all."
A root cause of the Vietnam War, at least for the Vietnamese people themselves, was religious conflict, Namely, a catholic minority propped up into unearned power by European colonialists who mistreated Buddhists in multiple ways, including by taking US foreign aid and distributing it only to catholics.
christians massacred Jews during the Holocaust. And on multiple occasions before it. And on multiple occasions after it.
So, as you can see, the "slim and few chances" of finding a message of love, tolerance, peace and compassion in that religion isn't limited to America. The hate and violence are international.
And always have been.

(14,198 posts)This hate preachers say any and everything to feed the hate of their followers. The more they feed it, the more thier followers will put in the collection plates.
That's why their followers go to their church. Hearing the preacher say all the things they believe. It makes the haters feel justified in their hate.
Just a poisonous cycle with no end.

TFG was a real blessing and curse.
Blessing: He exposed the Right's downright evil, remove all masks, etc.
Curse: Because of said exposure, these cockroaches that were hidden in basement meetings, Dark Webs and shortwave radio have reached the surface and now it's just an all-out infestation.

(53,395 posts)Given that, his den of iniquity is at 307 W. Francis Avenue in Spokane. If you'd care to go up there and inform Pastor Graber he's going to hell, drive up Division to Francis, turn left, go down three blocks and it's on the left. Spa Jonathan is next door if you need a pedicure before you go in, and there's a Dairy Queen across the street because condemning Nazis to hell is thirsty work.
