"Are you worried at all that if Rhodes were pardoned, there would be risk of another potential January 6?" asked Phillip.
"Absolutely," said Adams. "This is Stewart's life's work. This is what he does. He is incredibly brilliant. Completely manipulative. He is good at what he does. He will just regroup immediately. I guarantee he also has plans in the works for as soon as he is out. He will do this again until he creates the chaos he wants to create."

(61,033 posts)to "do it again." In 18 years, if he lives that long, he'll be an old, forgotten man and things will have long since moved on.
It's over for him and his motley crew. And if he's so brilliant, why is he where he is?

(5,545 posts)(Stupidity+ignorance+lack of empathy+greed) × average voter + (gerrymandering+disenfranchisement+voter suppression) x supreme court + (apathy+maleducation) x national media = enough for Republicans to win in many state and local races and enough to be competitive nationally. I think that education and engagement of the electorate can still tilt the balance though, at least if the Republicans are not able to cause the chaos that they are trying for.

(61,033 posts)"I'm going to pardon the J6 traitors", says trump or DeSantis.
Nope, nope, nope. Repubicans, the party of the attempted coup against the US government, the multiple-indicted candidate, and also the party that snatched away women's rights.
Nope, nope, not gonna happen.

(13,003 posts)In every prison across the nation, there is an extremist White Supremacist Gang, and he would be elevated to the very top, or their new leader of that gang the second he walks thru the gate...................
He, and a ton of others should be in SuperMax where they DON'T ALLOW prisoners any contact with the outside world or even other prisoners. Hell, he can continue to direct his fellow insurrectionists from prison.......
I gotta tell you, I wouldn't want to be the Warden of any prison he or some of this cronies land in......
And I also believe that a large group of the Department of Correction officers in every prison are questionable as far as their allegiance.
Who knows how far the Trump people have infiltrated the military, each states national guard, the secret service, local police, state police, etc etc etc.
Just remember, *someone(s)* way up high got the Capitol Police, The DC Police the National Guard, the Secret Service to basically stand down on J6th. AND, once it started, "someone(s)" way up high made sure there was intentionally NO ONE TO CALL to authorize anyone to come to the outbreak and assist in protecting the capitol.............
prison is where these types recruit.

He will be in his late 70s if not paroled and even at that it will be supervised parole. The sentence was 18 yrs + 3 years supervised parole. Hes done.

(24,210 posts)Over and over again people like Rhodes show they dont care about the 81 Million Americans who voted for Biden. Its the most terrifying thing, they dont consider 81 million people as worthy of having a say. That one fact makes me know what happened in Nazi Germany can happen here.

(27,633 posts)I'm also worried that all those maniacal MAGNuts that are in prison will recruit other inmates. The thousand or so insurrectionists traitors only got a slap on the wrist in sentencing...months to a few years. When they get out what's to prevent them from rejoining AND bringing along their recruits from prison.
I can see them making a huge effort to recruit more dysfunctional inmates to join up with the "Proud Boys" and other right-wing/insurrectionist militia.
Also concerned about the guards in those prisons. Hope someone is doing a good job of screening anyone assigned to guard the insurrectionists.
