(7,563 posts)I bet the poster you're responding to doesn't eat chicken by the bucket, rage tweet at 3 a.m. or ignore medical advise.
Dump looks shitty in the photo, moreso than your average 75-y-o. Luck has nothing to do with it.

(47,945 posts)with most of us, Trump's lifestyle choices have only accelerated the aging process. He doesn't sleep well, is almost always angry, gets very little exercise, is obese, and eats like a sixteen year old who thinks he'll live forever.
Instead of making basic lifestyle changes, he uses tons of makeup and hairspray to compensate for the obvious degeneration of his body. Plenty of men his age look a whole lot better than him. I'm always amazed that he hasn't had a major stroke or heart attack. The fact that he is still alive is a miracle.

(1,828 posts)Of course, old Rick was talking about another drug...
Seriously, though, I recall that when Crestor was still on patent, a lot of health plans wouldn't cover it because it was so strong. It was seen as a "lifestyle drug"; people would request it knowing that they wouldn't have to make the lifestyle changes that they really needed to make. (Most of the statin drugs do a good job of lowering cholesterol, but only if you stop inhaling porterhouses and cheeseburgers). The health plans weren't interested in paying top buck for a "lifestyle" cholesterol drug when there were plenty of other cheaper ones that simply required the patient to cooperate with their doctors. Trump clearly isn't interested in that.

(47,945 posts)doing anything truly healthy to stay alive. He always looks for the quick fix or a magic pill. He believes he can cheat death like he cheats people and organizations. He thinks his sense of entitlement and cunning will keep death at bay. He won't be the first arrogant fool to believe that.

(16,785 posts)Plus he has zero self-control or self-discipline. All of that adds up to an inability to ever deprive himself of anything he wants, unless it's simply unavailable.
Hes going to continue doing exactly what he wants to do until he literally can't.
PatSeg
(47,945 posts)of anything he wants. That is why he throws a toddler tantrum when he can't get his way. I've known adults like that, but I must say Trump is far worse than any that I can remember.

(7,563 posts)Rather than a miracle.
I just keep hoping he will have a heart attack and die.
I'm six years younger, don't rage tweet, and eat better and exercise. I hope like hell I will outlive the POS.
PatSeg
(47,945 posts)I suppose "miracle" is much too positive a word.
My feelings about him are mixed at times. It certainly would be a relief if he just had a heart attack and died, but that almost feels like the easy way out. After a lifetime of cheating and lying, I feel that his many victims deserve to see him held accountable finally. If at all possible, I'd like to see the man live a very long and extremely miserable life. May he some day pray for death to take him.
ShazzieB
(16,785 posts)With indictments due soon from Fani Willis and Jack Smith, dying right now would be getting off too easy, imo. I want him to at least live long enough enough to feel the full impact of those events and see the press coverage reviewing what he's being indicted for. If he lives long enough to be convicted, that would be the frosting of the cake for me.
Where we differ is that I don't really care if he lives a long life or not. I understand that desire, but personally, the main thing I want is for him to live long enough for the chickens (indictments) to come home to roost. That will be enough for me. If he were to die before those things happen, I would be very disappointed.
PatSeg
(47,945 posts)to have him exit this life before all the cases go to trial. I don't think it is asking too much to see the man finally face justice. Also, I think it would be better from a historical perspective. Let those who come after him know the repercussions of abusing the public's trust.
I guess I think it might take quite a few truly miserable years for him to feel the full impact and humiliation of being convicted and disgraced. Of course, if that can't happen, I can live with a short life as long as he is indicted and convicted.

(47,945 posts)his appearance is often a reflection of who he is as a person and what his future will be. It is understandable that people will pay attention to the way he looks. He is running for president again and his health is a significant factor.
I am sure a lot of people are wondering if he will live long enough to make it through a national campaign, not to mention long enough to be held accountable for his crimes. Yeah, I care.

(16,785 posts)But I see this photo as more indicative of his mental health. He knows that he's going to be indicted soon for serious crimes, by Fani Willis in Georgia and Jack Smith at the DOJ. There's also the financial fraud he's scheduled to be tried for in New York next March and the civil case filed by Letitia James for falsifying the value of his properties (trial scheduled for this October). And let's not forget his humiliating loss to E. Jean Carroll and the additional lawsuit from her that is yet to be tried.
I think all of this is taking a lot out of him, and he's also not regularly getting the narcissistic supply boost of speaking to huge crowds that he thrives on. The only thing keeping him going is running for another presidential term, and primary season isn't even underway yet, so he doesn't have much ongoing on to distract himself from his legal worries. I'm pretty sure he's a very unhappy man these days, and I think it shows in this photo and the video it came from.
We all know that a person's mental health has a direct impact on their physical health, but we also know Trump has access to excellent medical care. It's hard to say exactly what impact the stress of all the above is having on his physical health, but it can't be doing him any good. And when it comes to his mental state, I'm sure he's a mess and will only get messier as time goes on. So pop some popcorn and pull up a chair. Things are just going to get more and more interesting as time from Gere on out.
