This blew my mind!

William A. Darity Jr. is an American economist and social sciences researcher.

He’s currently the Samuel DuBois Cook Professor of Public Policy, African and African American Studies, and Economics at Duke University.

Maybe take a moment…

When an actual Scholar meets a Twitter monkey.

Of this. Right now, Ronda Santis and others across this nation are trying to re-write history and eliminate from schools and universities, and our textbooks the truth about the brutality, violence, murder and destruction of Black communities.

We cannot allow this to happen.

I know about some, but 100? And he didn't mention white violence about native people, everywhere, not just here.

We do not get taught about all of the violence and illegal (well, unlawful because it was typically made "legal&quot appropriation of property and violation of rights on people of color and indigenous people by White people. That would not be "patriotic" and might make some people feel bad about themselves.

100 is a little over one somewhere every year. Sounds about right. Doesn't include indivudual lynchings of course.

And the massacres were very much about property. (And so were the Salem witch trials ... but that's not widely known.)

Typical inarticulate right winger, can't even understand whatever "question" he's trying to ask. And don't care.

Or maybe my brain just learned to hear them all like the teacher in Snoopy cartoons.

I have said for many years America has actually been underachieving. We stole the labor from the Africans who were brought here in chains. We stole the land and all the riches it contained from the native Americans. If you pay nothing for labor, and nothing for raw materials, you should be richer than the county is. We have no business telling other nations how to conduct themselves. In reality we have no business doing that anyway.

Which makes it very clear why the right wants to STOP teaching history.
Massacres, lynchings and racism is the history of white America. It was not just one part of our society that white America did this to. Every new group that came to America suffered.
