MD-SEN: Steny Hoyer Endorses Angela Alsobrooks for Senate
SUITLAND, Md. (7News) — Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks on Thursday held a rally to provide an update on her U.S. Senate race with an endorsement from Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05).
Last month, Alsobrooks announced she will run for the U.S. Senate seat that will be opening with the retirement of Sen. Ben Cardin.
"There aren't enough people in the US Senate who live like, think like and look like the people they're supposed to represent. My Great-Grandma told me, 'if you don't like something, go farther and do better.' I'm proud to say I'm running for the Senate. Let's go farther together," she said in May.
On Thursday, Hoyer announced his endorsement for Alsobrooks.
"Ever since I first met Angela, I've known that she is one of the exceptional leaders that I have met in over 50 years. That is why I proudly, proudly and with great conviction, offer my endorsement to Angela Alsobrooks for the United States Senate," Hoyer said.
