Well it is June 1 - thankfully this one will fizzle out

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at2.shtml?start#contents

At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two was
located near latitude 28.0 North, longitude 86.6 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 2 mph (4 km/h).
A motion to the south is expected to begin by Friday with gradually
increasing forward speed.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some modest intensification is forecast, and the depression could
become a tropical storm tonight or tomorrow. However, the system
should begin to weaken by Friday night and degenerate into a
remnant low by Saturday.

Been really dry and warm up here in Michigan.

I think we are in for a hot and dry summer, like 2012.

Usually, by this time of year it is hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell. (that is a scientific measurement). I have no idea what that means for the rest of the Summer, but I am happy to take the break that we have already gotten.

Yesterday morning, it had a 10% chance of forming a storm in the next 48 hours and was expected to cross southern Florida into the Atlantic. Now it will be a tropical storm and is heading south.
