Hating the "Very Rich". Patriots claim to love the filthy rich today. It's the whole reason they exist. The filthy rich pay them big bucks to spew lies on Fox and GQP sites.

“Marginal Thinking” cartoons were always my favorites! First things I looked for whenever I grabbed a new copy. He and Mark Evaniers' later Groo series were great also. They're both still pumping out the satire too! Gonna have to go dig some stuff out of the attic now lol.

thanks so much! I will really enjoy these--right up my alley.

I can remember when my dad would draw cartoons for me when I was a little kid. This was after he read the Sunday section of the funny papers to me--remember those? Dick Tracy and his watch...wow. Now Apple watch.

Then one of my brothers was a cartoonist for a while but he turned into a muralist who does murals so big they can be seen from an airport landing in his city.

My aunt had a long-time dating relationship with a political cartoonist at the Chicago Tribune. I can remember hanging around his attic studio, which had big skylights. I also remember lots of wood and cartoons hanging on the walls.

--------

on edit: I wanted to add that a cartoonist from Mad Magazine lived in my condo complex where I lived before I bought my house. We would often walk together to the bus station to catch the train into Manhattan. Anyway, he would show me his work; we loved talking cartoon art with each other. He was such a fun neighbor, amond other really terrific people I lived there with.

And I agree that even 50 odd years later, "patriotism" to these people is still the same.

What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.

Like when my dad told me my teenage ways weren't new. He'd done the same stuff too. Just in Europe with people occasionally shooting at him.
