Kevin McCarthy probably told Lauren she HAD to vote FOR the bill. Maybe he was twisting her arm when he said it, I don't know. She had already been tweeting and soapbox-screaming that there's no way she'd vote for it. Too many people heard her say that, and her tweets were on the record.
So isn't it just easier to sidestep the whole mess by accidentally "missing" the deadline for the vote? That way it couldn't come back to bite her in the butt later, am I right? Hmmm...
