I'll be so glad when we can tell opec to drink their damn oil.

(32,673 posts)cut back your driving 5% and slow down another 5%.
Wife drives about 60 miles round trip 4 days a week. Was getting 24 mpg, bought a Prius a few weeks ago that gets 55mpg.
Still see macho man driving those huge monster trucks. Bet they are hurting way more than us.

(7,311 posts)we're trying to get a handle on inflation but this oil price hike causes diesel fuel to skyrocket and the cost of transporting goods and food etc.. is passed along to the working folks.

(3,557 posts)Once a piece of renewable infrastructure is built, it sticks around and slowly bites into the long-term sales of oil.
Short term, itll cost us money and impact the economy, but in the long run well need oil and OPEC less and less and their influence will lessen.

(11,910 posts)The number of EV owners is still pretty low compared to the overall number of motorists that will be looking to cast blame for the higher prices. I've never seen where the party in power gets an advantage from higher gas prices.

They've been doing crisis costs since the 1920s and have gotten away with it ever decade since. Car owners are like drug addicts. I want renewables in place so bad.
I have a Prius and I don't drive much. And every other trick to conserve power.

Decided not to buy any new vehicles for a long time. Gonna get my moneys worth out of the old ones. Only emergency purchases get an instant green light.
If enough people do this, it will drive inflation down
way down.
