'Cowards': Soledad O'Brien rips former CNN colleagues for silence as Chris Licht wrecks the network

Former CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien had some harsh words for her former colleagues who have remained silent as CEO Chris Licht has tarnished their network's reputation.

O'Brien on Sunday night made the comments in response to a report from The Atlantic's Tim Alberta that revealed a Licht henchman demanded that CNN's graphics department take down a chyron that referenced Trump being found liable by a jury for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll during last month's town hall event.

Even though sources told Alberta they were shocked and dismayed by this decision, O'Brien argued that this wasn't good enough and that they needed to go public with their concerns.

That was just one of many decisions regarding the fiasco that showed Licht had his thumb on the scales. According to the Atlantic article, he stated he wanted an "extra trumpy" crowd and he got it. CNN staffers were dismayed when he didn't have any of the veteran journalists who had dealt with dump prep Collins beforehand and dump ran over her - to the delight of the audience. One day after the Carroll verdict, that chryon that was so offensive in reporting the truth that dump was found guilty, Licht had it taken down.

And the article shows without a doubt that when it comes to journalism and understanding dump, Licht has absolutley no idea what he is doing. As with dump, his motivations are personal: to get back at those eastern elites who don't respect him.

Licht was speaking to a group of students at Frank Luntz's house (yes that same scumbag amoral repub pollster who is a friend) and showed his total misunderstanding of dump and the danger he is to our democracy:
"He explained that Trump was now a recycled commodity; that his “superpower” of dominating the news cycle was a thing of the past. If anything, Licht added, he would love to get Trump on the air alongside his ace reporter Kaitlan Collins.
The students appeared startled by his nonchalance.
“You cover him like any other candidate,” Licht told them."

Yeah, a twice impeached, convicted sexual abuser who incites violence against our most vulnerable people and who tried to overthrow our democracy is just like any other candidate. Licht is no savior for journalism, just a delusional unethical cog whose undeserved hubris is leading us to a repeat of 2016 media coverage.
