Can Broadwell be charged with adultery under the UCMJ? I believe she's active reserves

I don't know the military law well enough but I think its interesting everyone's focusing on whether Petraeus could be charged (if the affair was going on while he was active duty which by all accounts they two of them looked VERY intimate....).

But I haven't heard if she's likely to be charged.

Anyone know?

6. She's being called "the mistress". But she's married. She's an officer in the military

I'm sorry but as an equal rights supporter, I guess its the implied sexism that kinda sticks in my craw.

Honestly, I believe Broadwell is going to find herself facing much bigger problems than "adultery" charges under the UCMJ. This was just a question I was interested in personally.

this is a possible security breach of epic proportions, and you want it to just go away?! not fucking likely.

I'd hate to guess how many illicit relationships are still going on we don't know about. He resigned. Let's finish the investigation of how she got classified documents and prosecute where necessary and move on.

Though those charges would be minor if it turns out she knowingly possesed or passed on classified information. And the email threats are a legal problem for her.

Petreaus also likely faced charges. I tjink his resignation was in effect a plea deal... he was likely to face a demotion and loss of pension in a military court.

Just having these laws on the books makes us look like the kinds of dirtbags who stone people to death for alleged adultery.

13. Won't be necessary- I have a feeling there will be enough criminal charges against her

she apparently had possession of classified documents and was sharing their contents.

Once the dust settles, I have a feeling there will be criminal charges.
