. . . . . one Jack Smith.

(2,970 posts)Of that particular scene.
Jack Smith remains silent during the entire 30 minute proceeding, and when Trumps lawyers finish with their plea and arguments, Smith tilts his head slightly, expressionless, unreadable, focused like a hawk on the lead attorney and says:
Smith: Is that all?
Lawyer 1: Yes sir.
Smith: Agent Jones will escort you out.

(32,633 posts)I'm thinking Ben Affleck (now that he's older) might be a really good choice. Anybody?

(32,633 posts)My 2nd choice would be Alec Baldwin.
However I have no idea if either of these guys would want to be Chump. We're just talking about a fantasy cast.

(14,708 posts)Negotiating a plea bargain. Trump could care less about a conviction, even on a felony charge, as long as there is no prison time.
The doj sees risks in going to trial, along with sn election starting.. They will both very seriously try to plead this out.
But, the doj does go to court, so there is that. Just don't be shocked if a plea deal is reached.

(13,964 posts)Federal prosecutors especially like plea deals. Im fine with one as long as he gets some jail time which may or may not happen.

(14,708 posts)More likely he would wear an ankle monitor and be confined at home. Which home? What privileges,? Visitors? Social media?
It's all very problematic.

(14,886 posts)is pretty satisfying.
I mean, he's sooo used to generally jetting around when, and where he's wanted to go all his life! That's would have to be very frustrating!!
If he's in Mardo-bargo ... or Bedminster -
take away his Golf Clubs too!!!

Meanwhile he goes on the Shittercom and urges his flock to write in his name on the 2024 ballot.
He still loses brilliantly, but blames a corrupt DOJ and FBI for his demise.
Rinse, repeat.

(32,633 posts)But I don't believe he ever will. I believe he'll go down swinging and blaming everyone, even his own kids.
It's an ugly story and it's going to get way uglier before it's over.
But yes, that part about him admitting to a felony, that would keep him out of office forever.

The Constitution also bows to laws passed by Congress including the below applicable one -
(snip)
(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term office does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.
