Was one of my favorite songs from the time I first heard it. That song painted my first mental images of Brazil.

The post war era, in the early 1960's. All music was in the pop genre, even Steve Lawrence and Eddie Gore topped the charts. The variety in music was incredible. Kids spent their money buying 45's (records not guns).

It was a great time to be a teen!

The expansion of communication and interdependence had to be a by-product of WWII. Peace time uses of technology and innovation and the free spirit of the early 1960's opened our minds, eyes and ears.

A favorite album of mine reflecting this time was Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly." While produced in the 1980's, it was a reflection of the early 1960's.
