(11,669 posts)If yes, GOOD. It's the next step in the chain linking Donald to the already jury-found CONSPIRACY to commit insurrection.
IANAL. Please, some lawyer here tell me: does the finding of a conspiracy, automatically equate to a potential RICO charge? Because if so, what is the possibility that the entire republican vote column for NOT certifying the election, can be charged for the SAME insurrection count?, since the conspiracy has already been proven to exist in a court of law?

(2,489 posts)Could be wrong, but my understanding is that Smith is treating the stolen documents and January 6 as two separate cases, each of which could have their own timeframes and indictments. Bannon was involved in January 6, but not the stolen documents (as far as we know). Since the documents case is the more straightforward of the two, the expectation is that indictments will come down first in that case.
An indictment now in FL and another a few months from now in DC would be ideal. Georgia still happening in July too.

(3,178 posts)This is probably 1/6, not the MAL docs case.

(13,426 posts)indictment on documents first. Bannon is no doubt about 1/6. And then he has the FL grand jury, if it is more about the financial and wire fraud, it too could be a different time. I keep hoping he would do them all under a RICO charge.

(26,848 posts)mind a sentence that includes working to build wells in remote, neglected areas in Sub-Saharan Africa. Maybe even mandatory daily push-ups...... Or in his case push-up. All while Public Enemy and Krs-One play in the background.

(115,391 posts)As a side benefit, it could keep the rabble-rouser and propagandist, Bannon, pre-occupied elsewhere as the job gets done?

(24,906 posts)Look at all he's done with no consequences already. If he goes to jail, it will only enhance his brand. I really think he sees it that way.

(13,426 posts)so he can whip up his supporters. The fact he has been so quiet tells me he is taking this seriously.
Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)but you may be right about that. One thing is sure, Smith won't let him dick around and try to delay it for six months.

(5,199 posts)Bannon had his hands in lots of things, including the fake electors plot. I wouldnt count that one out as being in play right now.
So far, 32 indictment counts on the New York stuff- now we are going to see Bannon decide if he wants to cooperate or serve time. There wont be another pardon.
