Let's face it: republicans don't go to congress to serve the American people

They go to serve themselves and their money masters. They will do most anything, to include the criminal, to advance their thief like ways.

It should not be surprising to see the evidence of this innate quality in their support for trumps criminality. There is no moral, ethical or rational reason for their support for the alleged traitor trump.

They do not go to congress to improve the conditions of the average American. Some go with the intention of advancing white power….this is surprisingly clear from massive amounts of evidence. Almost no legislation advanced by a republican ever has shown one iota of concern for anyone who isn’t white. There is endless legislating to do as much suppression of and harm to the quality of life for all non whites.

Some go as subversive agents of economically powerful people. Corporations, special interests, religious and anarchist/neo nazism all find comfort and safety in the arms of republican politicians who sell their offices.

Republicans scoff at the idea of fealty to the constitution to which they swore an oath. Rule of law is only for those who can’t, don’t or won’t pay cash. Their diligence is directed at subverting the institutions which strive to actually make America great; the Supreme Court being at the head of that effort, along with the rest of the federal courts. They pride themselves at installing distinctly unqualified jurists whose prime qualifications are racist, misogynistic, corporatist and evangelical deadenders.

They hamstring the IRS, create untenable rules for the post office, hobble law enforcement, and punish the military for being successful. They applaud cops who kneel on the necks of minorities while criticizing the law enforcement’s efforts at keeping Americas security…secure from anyone who would expose national security secrets….to include now a former president.

Clearly bereft of honor, dignity and morals….they have distinguished themselves as anti American to a fault. The republicans have become a cult of personality, attaching themselves to one of the most bizarre humans in our history. That they aren’t distancing themselves like rats fleeing a flaming ship tells you what you need to know about them.

This screed barely touches the full extent of trumps harm to America and his disastrous effects on republican viability. The Republican Party has become a clear and present danger to America, and they admit it through their adherence to alleged traitors like trump who are charged with espionage laws violations.

Helping American, saving America, etc the base buys in and they celebrate

The jackasses in Florida with their anti-immigrant law are now crying that they are all beginning to leave. They keep telling them if they work for an employer that has less than 25 employees they will be ok. Would you trust a Republican.

I'm pretty confident that democrats include a diverse array of politicians, not nearly as lock-step as the republicans.

I don't say this to defame democrats, but to suggest that a view that only sees republican politicians as serving themselves and their large donors as woefully incomplete.

Defame this view as we-tooism, but please try to respect the reality that the Dems are very diverse in their interests.

WITTs = Were In This Together

YOYOs = You're On Your Own

That pretty much sums it up. Their sense of community is very small & exclusive; ours is broad & inclusive.

A story of irony: A few years before the pandemic hit I asked my radical right-wing cousin, "Why wouldn't you want everyone in your community to have health care? What if there was an outbreak of something contagious. Wouldn't you want everyone to be able to be diagnosed & treated so you don't get it when you go to the grocery store or the post office?" Ha ha, right? I saw this on FB: We're going to have to retire that old phrase, "Avoid it like the plague," cuz it turns out we don't.

I have another post where I lament how everything has turned upside down in regards to standards & decency. We used to hold our elected officials, judges, police officers, those types of positions in the community to a higher standard. We didn't always succeed, but we at least made an effort. Now, we cut incredible slack for those at the top. They get away with stuff most of us would be fined or in jail for.

Love of money is the root of all evil. Not a Bible fan, but man, did it nail that one!
