I don't know how to cite another DU article, but many of you will know it in a moment.

Nevilledog posted an article with a picture enclosed asking if the red circle held a copier. I looked at the photo and based on the left side, I'd agree but I can't be convinced enough to wholeheartedly agree. I thought to myself at this moment "what a perfect set up for group think.
I am so glad to see the exact opposite happened and even more thrilled to see the openness to being wrong. When almost half this country is wallowing in thoughtlessness, it is so refreshing to be amongst all of you incredibly smart, humble and giving people. I'm so glad I found you.

Thanks for the many ways you make me smarter.

If I’m mistaken, I get the facts by well intentioned and knowledgeable posters. If I have a question, I get answers..may not be what I thought or wanted to hear but they’re honest. I lurked on this site for a while before I joined in..have never been disappointed.

It IS a special place. Anonymity and THISCLOSE bonds of friendship at the same time! And brains and valuable perspectives of all kinds. I can't even count how much I've learned since I started joining in, here. There's so unbelievably much expertise - of so many different kinds! And it's yours for the asking. We've been there to vent and share and celebrate happy events and occasions together, and offer comfort and companionship during sad or disappointing or heartbreaking or deeply frustrating times - in some cases through FOUR presidents. And you need never feel alone or isolated. As our dear Skittles once said (and I continue to hold, deeply), "someone's always here."
