(25,561 posts)Nobody is arguing that he should have unsecured classified defense and nuclear information scattered all around his country club..
Nobody is arguing that he did not try to obstruct the recovery of the documents.
Their only argument is that it is all OK because he is Donald Trump.

(13,469 posts)bullshit being spewed. Quit giving a platform to insurrectionists and liars, they are far more practised at talking over everyone.

(11,445 posts)CNN keeps inviting these Trump ass-kissers onto their shows and giving them a platform to spew their bullshit and muffle any attempt by the hosts to get a fact in edgewise.

(14,623 posts)They talk over you with an emphasis on quantity of arguments or assertions rather than any concern at all with accuracy or truthfulness, and the reporter -- THIS IS IMPORTANT, CNN -- the reporter appears to the average audience member as not being able to debate, not being prepared, and, thus, not very trustworthy, and some measure of legitimacy is thus conferred instead to the Republican liar who was being "interviewed."

The media for the most part does not know how to interview these thugs.
They dont follow up enough on falsehoods, and it effectively ceases to be an interview, and more a platform for them to spew lies and misinformation

(76,984 posts)She asked one question, he never answered it, and then bloviated. The simple follow-up to the "he can do it, the law says" was "After he's no longer president?"
But, no. She just let him run wild.

(114,650 posts)A takedown would have been muting his mike and informing the audience that TFG was no longer the president when he hid those documents inside a country club bathroom. Of course, that wouldn't have preserved access to babblebabblebabble and running out all the time in the segment by spreading the lie that TFG was somehow still the president in 2021-2022.
This was shameful "journalism," certainly not an appropriate response to one of the worst liars in Congress.

(317 posts)They all just ignore the Presidential records Act ONLY allows a President to keep personal records After they are reviewed by the Archives. Even those records arent supposed to be private and unseeable under most circumstances . Under no circumstances does any record of any type created by a government source EVER to become their private property. As Republicans always do, they repeat the lie until people believe it is the truth. They did it about Hillary Clinton (and still do), they do it about everything from Climate Change to voting rights and the media just goes along with it.
