Father-of-two Williams was hit around 5pm on Sunday on Route 30 by Long Trail Auto near Dorset, Vermont. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he later died.
The man who fatally hit the actor was named by police as Ryan Koss of Pownal, Vermont, who was driving a 2008 Honda Element. He was trying to turn left into a parking lot when he struck Williams.
Williams was thrown from his 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle.
Koss has minor injuries from the crash. Police confirmed no one had been arrested as of Sunday night, but an investigation is ongoing.
Following the tragic news, Barry McPherson, his agent, told People: 'He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off. I'm just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.'
'He was an actor's actor. Filmmakers loved him. He's been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s.
In 1979, he starred as George Berger in the film Hair, which was based on the Broadway musical

(1,323 posts)4. My wife rides her motorcycle often
And I always tell her to be careful...not because I don't trust her, but because I don't trust the cars around her at all. They're bigger and a tap at speed could knock her off and injure or kill her.
RIP Treat.

I've been a biker since high school but haven't riden in quite a while. I hesitate getting back on one because situations like this that are, unfortunately, not that uncommon.
