Tomorrow will be unprecedent and IF this was an ordinary case of espionage, those defendants wont see freedom after arrangement. BUT! If the courts were to be fair and equal, the state could hold MR Trump behind bars. Flight and National Security Risk is all the state have to say.
Now, if stuck behind bars, Trump will probably want to get out ASAP and agree to the Smiths Trap of the speedy trial. So, stay tune and pop the popcorn, it be an enjoyable afternoon! 😉 🍿

(3,900 posts)The Defendant can also waive that right, which Trump most certainly will, and the prosecution can't really do anything about it. The Defendant can't delay the trial indefinitely, but they can push it past the time limits stated in the law.
Most courts are under strict guidelines from the State Supreme Courts of that particular State to have cases wrapped up within a certain amount of time, even if the Defendant waives the right to a speedy trial. And the Judges have discretion to tell a Defendant, "You've had enough time, I'm setting this trial on X date." But complicated cases take time to prepare, and they're given a lot of leeway. Particularly big, important cases. So don't look for this one to go to trial anytime soon.
