so long as we have one political party and numerous states that want to replace our democracy with an autocracy so that the minority can gain power.

The only answer is to keep voting the bastards out of office.

The right elected a lifelong slimy snake. His reputation was well known among new Yorkers but the maga looked the other way.

The easiest solution is to not vote for president, but instead vote as if you're voting for Supreme Court Justices. The Susan Serandans of the world killed Hillary's chances.

that democracy totally dies in this country is to have a constitutional convention at this time, in the current political climate. Such a bad idea that I wonder why anyone brings it up.

I agree with you 100%. I know there are many knowledgeable than me. It was more my intention to see what my fellow DUers think. An open question. You’re right about a constitutional convention. No way on that.

Congress to act. Trump was impeached twice. Lord knows, he could have been impeached several other times. Hillary warned voters before the election. Congress impeached him. But the GOP simply has no interest in democracy anymore and their voters don’t seem to mind this fact. No constitutional change can fix a willful disregard for the very institution of democracy by so many elected officials.
