to be rid of him.
I don't care what happens to him. I just want him gone.

(22,591 posts)Oh, wait. I would only have 5 cents, because a former president was just indicted on federal criminal charges for the first time in history!
Just pointing out that we are on brand new and previously untrodden growd. I am honestly surprised to hear this being discussed as if it's just the same old same old.

(37,848 posts)The thought of hours of exclusive media time on all the channels for Trump today did cross my mind.
Has President Biden ever had such coverage?
I believe the whole arraignment could have been covered in a 20 second anchor announcement with a graphic in the background for all that was actually shown on camera. Other, of course, than TFG's actors with the flags and Trump drag.
I think all of the Presidential candidates should be given equal time. Showing them "not being indited or arraigned".

(10,487 posts)I loved the constant skewering the Short Fingered Vulgarian got in SPY Magazine on the regular.

(My late baby sister, Goddess bless her, worked for Pud for awhile. Lil Sis, unlike us three older siblings, was influenced by the RW politics of my widowed Moms second husband. She actually dug working for Pud, go figure, and was totally for him in 2016. She also worked for Al Goldstein for awhile, and she arranged it for us to meet and chat for a few hours at his office at SCREW. Al was a great raconteur, and was kind and courteous.)

(19,139 posts)In his prison cell or the rec yard. I wouldnt do it often - just when I felt down or depressed. It would be a great uplift for a low mood.

(22,591 posts)...plus a trial in Manhattan and likely one in Georgia, all of which will be covered by the media. And I think they will all need to be covered thoroughly. This is history being made, and the American people are going to need to know what's going in. Sure, some will cover their ears and refuse to hear anything negative about their dear leader, but the unwillingness of some people to accept information is no argument against disseminating it.
I'm no more interested in listening to him lying, playing the martyr, and attacking people than anyone else, but the idea of seeing him finally being tried for some of his crimes feels like a whole different ballgame to me. Just imagine how much he will HATE having to sit in a courtroom (or a series of courtrooms) day after day, keeping his mouth firmly shut while all manner of damning evidence against him is laid out for the world to see. The schadenfreude factor is going to be off the charts!
I understand people are sick of hearing about him, but this isn't just going to be the sane old some old. This is a new chapter, imo.
