https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/the-mystery-of-the-bedminster-documentsEven after months of asking nicely, the issuance of a grand jury subpoena, searches executed by FBI agents, and a federal indictment of Donald Trump, its far from clear that the government knows the location of all of the records that the former president took after leaving office.
The Trump indictment was chock-full with cameos by Mar-a-Lago employees, including military-grade Diet Coke valet Walt Nauta, discussing how and where to move boxes of records that included classified information, and one now-infamous photo of a bathroom (and shower) filled to the ceiling with stacks of boxes.
But prosecutors alleged in the indictment that the records didnt only stay in Mar-a-Lagos chandelier-bedecked bathrooms, ballrooms, and storage rooms. They claim in the document to know of at least two episodes in which Trump moved boxes to his estate and golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump brandished classified records at Bedminster, prosecutors say, including a supposed invasion plan of Iran and a map. CBS reported last week that Trump attorneys had told the DOJ that they couldnt find the Iran invasion plan.

(82,849 posts)The writer presented himself as having been in a high-up classified position, and I have no reason to doubt that. But even if he was just a poseur or a wannabe, what he said rang true to me.
That is, the folks who write these intelligence assessments and analyze reports and do all the other stuff they do for the country are highly motivated to get it right. Of course, if you do, your chances of promotion are better, but there's another consideration. The people who read those reports depend on them to make literal life-and-death decisions for government employees around the world. Those people in other countries, in turn, know that they owe their personal safety and security to these assessments being right.
And this is the way the former guy treated that classified and highly sensitive information: trophies to be displayed to knuckleheads and other people he wanted to impress, and just maybe (definitely) to agents of foreign governments hostile to our interests. The former guy enjoys near total support from Republicans for this.

(2,936 posts)It was a dark and stormy night, but in the brightly lit tacky halls, the motion of the boxes continued. Faster! yelled the fat man as he mopped his brow and continued swilling another Diet Coke. They will be here soon!

(34,189 posts)A while back there was a photo circulating on social media of TFG's plane purportedly in New Jersey with a bunch of file boxes being unloaded/loaded. There was the implication that those were some of the documents being sought for by NARAL.
Or was that just a figment of my imagination?

(34,189 posts)Our power and internet went out last night. Internet is back, but not power. I have a generator for the house, but not the well, so at least I can get online, even if I can't flush my toilets or take a shower.
There are more storms going through the area so it will probably take a while to get all the outages repaired. Centurylink had to bring in a generator to power the telephone/internet substation down the road.

It might be something Jack is keeping up his sleeve if things go badly in FL because of the Judge.
