Excuse me Bojangles. Crawfish should be boiled fresh and not fried with breading.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by SYFROYH (a host of the General Discussion forum).

And to call fried crawfish Cajun is sinful. One must suck them heads and eat them tails.

It's one of the great things you can with the leftovers from a boil.

There's a coonass place here in Houston that makes a bang-up fried crawfish tail po-boy.

I used to regularly go into Taft on a tanker, and during crawfish season we'd get 'em at the local gin mill for $1/lb. Lots of folks with "U"s and "X"s in their names there.

They called 'em Cajun Popcorn and were delicious. They had a strong garlic flavor like hushpuppies.

The strong kind of garlic flavor good hushpuppies have.

Anyway, my point is that if they cook it and sell it in the French Quarter your opinion on the subject is pretty much moot.

Granted, fried oysters, catfish and those other things are much higher on the list but, IMO, fried crawfish tails sneaks in under the radar inside poboys.

It had to be said.

I love crawfish myself, but I like them boiled and that's how I would rather have them on a sandwich. I don't like shrimp poboys fried and that goes for crawfish too. That breading just detracts from the natural taste and adds calories on top of the spices that contain too much salt as is.

I hold my hand to gob, people put all sorts of shit into grits that has no business even being on the same plate, let alone mixed together.

I agree with you on eatin' bugs too. Breaded and fried? What on earth is that about?
