Why Team Biden is giving Trump the silent treatment post-indictment

President Biden needs to stay above TFG's indictments and be POTUS.

Don’t expect the Joe Biden campaign to be blasting Donald Trump over his legal troubles in the months ahead. Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez confirmed the campaign would not be fundraising off Trump’s indictments, and indeed, the president has focused this week on the scourge of junk fees, instead of Trump’s Miami arraignment.

There are two reasons driving this decision. The first is that Biden wants to stay true to his promise that he would do everything he can to restore and protect the independence of the Justice Department. And the second is the team sees staying out of scandal-driven public relations wars with Trump as the same strategy that helped them win in 2020.

Believe me, there are many ways to contrast Biden’s commitment to the rule of law with his rival’s lack thereof that don’t require him weighing in directly on the indictment. But his team’s silence is central to the strategy … for now.

Old money uses gold sparingly and effectively in decoration.

Smart money is more interested in function and design.

New money is gobsmacked and doesn't know what to do with itself, so it goes for gaudy, flamboyant, over-the-top display of wealth. If he were in the 1980s he'd party at Studio 54, have 3 wives, and build a penthouse apartment dripping in gold and gilt. Oh wait, he did that.

tRump puts the rash in trash.

They say Obama is directing everything and that Harris will get dumped. One nutty theory with some traction is that Feinstein will resign days before the convention, and Harris will be appointed to her seat, and Biden will withdraw 2 days before the convention and then the super-delegates will elevate Gavin Newsom to be the nominee.

That is what passes for informed political speculation on some Con sites.

keep his powder dry and be presidential (something Trump couldn't even approximate). Biden is getting stuff done, which is way more important than squabbling with an antisocial pathological narcissist.
