GOP in 4th largest county in FL: COVID vaccines a 'biological weapon'

https://www.tampabay.com/news/hillsborough/2023/06/17/hillsborough-gop-covid-vaccines-biological-weapon/

The Hillsborough County Republican Party has become the seventh local party in the state to pass a resolution calling COVID-19 and the COVID vaccine “biological and technological weapons” and the vaccine, and the vaccines’ use a “denial of informed consent” and “crimes against humanity.”

The resolution asks Gov. Ron DeSantis to ban the vaccines in Florida and seize all supplies of the vaccine in the state.

The resolution originated with Joseph Sansone, a Lee County psychotherapist who specializes in hypnosis, according to his website...

People who will believe anything are capable of anything. I'm shocked, disturbed, and wondering what the hell happened to these people.

You want to deprive millions of people of vital healthcare because an incredibly small number of people in one political party voted for this idiotic resolution?

You are as bad as them. They want to stop people from getting vital, life saving healthcare for political reasons. You want to stop people getting vital, lifesaving healthcare for political reasons.

It is absolutely sickening to see people posting such depraved, evil agendas on this site.

more plainly stated as, "I can't get my head around" what has happened to cause so many people to go insane. I'm no tin-foil hatter, but I look for environment causes like pharmaceuticals in our water self medicating us, microplastics, forever chemicals and hormones in the food chain, things that were never present before. Then layered upon that, the psychosis induced by Faux "news". I'm into my 70s and hope to make a graceful exit before the zombies attack.

All the chemicals in our water, soil and air. Few people want to stop the pollution or find ways to get rid of them.

And there are to many people on this planet. We have to make individual choices to have fewer children and two reduce or stop our polluting.
No government will mandate either choice. Governments are more concerned about maintaining their status in the world. That means more babies, more technology and make life easier for those who can afford it.

charges that the Republican Party colluded and conspired in the mass deaths over over a million Americans.

Which is TRUE.

That congressional Republicans initially blocked all the usual methods of containment, control and treatment is a matter of public record. Just for instance, back in 2002-3 during a pandemic then, Republican Senator Richard Burr headed the committee that literally wrote the book on congressional actions to take against national pandemic; in early 2020 Senate Republicans refused to implement its recommendations and Burr was discovered to have warned friends to move to pandemic-safe investments. Of course we all got to listen to many Republican officials tell people to in effect go spread the disease, at their head Der Leader.

Why? Well, no investigation yet and they're not saying on Fox. But to note, disease is a proven means of facilitating overthrow of governments by creating chaos and fear and the Republican Party had been working that direction for a couple decades. For another, an enormous transfer of wealth took place as a result -- to the classes the Republican Party serves. And, tRump's a viciously punitive narcissistic whackjob.

... Attention overdue, but we've had a hell of a lot on our plates while those culpable do everything they can to avoid the truth. Of course. They are something like 40% of all Americans, not just those they elect.

First society would have to come to a point where guilt was acknowledged. We're a long way out.

Reminds me, though, that with 80% of the dead of retirement age, many of those who'd have a cause of action (including those who colluded in spreading the virus, because after all, they were told to) prematurely inherited their estates. The recreational travel industry's booming. Housing stock, including vacation, in short supply.

prevent Covid. The site gives a false sense of security.

Even the owners of that site have gotten Covid despite being vaccinated.

Covid can cause many long term complications (and a high risk of long Covid). There are new studies coming out everyday, so people should use all the tools they have available to them to prevent getting infected: masks, vaccines, avoiding crowded areas full of unmasked people. Paxlovid isn't as easily available to everyone as people think.

My dad was fully vaxxed and boosted, healthy at 74, and died of Covid 8 months ago. It's a very sad Father's Day in my house today.

Thousands of people are still dying of Covid and leaving behind devastated loved ones, who not only had to lose their loved ones, but had to watch them die an unimaginably horrific, gruesome, and painful death. I don't think that's something I can ever get over. It's changed how I feel about everyone and everything.

Just because there is a media blackout and politicians are afraid to talk about it doesn't mean Covid isn't still going to kill or harm you or someone you love.

That's always been my problem with that site, they need to urge other mitigations.

Also, some people can't get vaccinated. I had 2 Pfizer vaccines, I had really believed that I wouldn't get Covid if I had the vaccinations and was very excited about it. However, I had terrible side effects from my autoimmune disorders (which I'm still suffering daily from) and I've been unable to get any boosters. I wouldn't even mind so much if I was protected completely from getting Covid as we were told in the beginning, but I've watched most vaccinated people I know take off their masks and get infected with Covid.

But as far as vaccines being biological weapons, those republicans are nuts. I think they could have been tested longer on people with different types of illnesses to make sure there wouldn't be issues, but I don't believe there was malicious intent, just overconfidence.

There's a BIG difference between "small government & low taxes" & crazy crap like this & the garbage culture war DeFascist is waging, & at least where I live, people see that. I have conservative neighbors that scoff at things like this & say it's crazy.

My view, living here, is that the more they do stuff like this & the abortion ban & book banning & drag show banning etc the more they push average Floridians away from the radical right, in a more moderate direction, in our direction. Every conservative/Republican I know here (personally know, average folks) views things like this as "lunatic fringe."

Now they (& we) need to translate that into votes, so the lunatics don't get elected! The opportunity is there.

I swear if a good Democratic candidate ran on things like fixing the homeowners insurance crisis (probably the #1 issue of most homeowners in FL) there's a good chance they'd win.
