that interview with the Slobfather should now convince you that he is stark, raving mad.

(10,539 posts)There is no cure or treatment, it is who he is. This is why he should not be allowed a mental illness excuse.

(14 posts)Narcissists and most Type B disordered personalities know what they are doing is wrong, but do it anyway. Sadism is a heckuva drug.

(34,914 posts)The stench from his Depends has got to be overwhelming. Hal Sparks covered the interview on his show last night. It was bonkers. I had to look twice to see who Trump was talking to, because if one was only listening, they'd think it was a Chris Hayes or Lawrence O'Donnell-type interviewer.

It's fun to watch.
He deserves every minute of against, until he's sitting on a shared jail cell toilet for all to see.

Thank you for posting. I watched it live last night and was glad he covered it this way. Watching the faces of the three experts was a good idea. I can just imagine the conversations between them off camera.

(32,318 posts)said because he is a Narcissist he believes he will get away with everything. I think the E. Jean Carroll verdict put some chinks in that way of thinking. If Jack Smith could get Trump to trial before the election it would get real for Trump, I think he would have a nervous breakdown.

(26,009 posts)He is desperately hoping that a combination of public opinion and the election will give him an escape. So he pleads his case in his usual way on TV to influence his followers. Yet his usual way (dissembling, gaslighting) just gives Smith more fodder for the trial.
The arrests and convictions of so many of his insurrectionist faithful remove them from his "army" of defense and inhibits others from stepping forward to that extreme. I guess it's still possible that he has some allies to develop a more successful, strategic plan for overthrowing the government. With skilled people and a good strategy of where and when to strike, I suppose they could do some damage. But, even if he still has dedicated people able and willing to go that far, he couldn't succeed in a takeover by force.
He hopes now that, if he can convince enough people that he is being politically railroaded, he will get elected and be able to pardon himself.
Grasping at anything.

(102,789 posts)Four years of "Administrative time" nearly every morning that lasted until noon. We all thought he was doing his hair and painting his face when he was rooting through our national secrets and performing shakedowns of world leaders.
And he had boxes with him wherever he went, according to some reporting I've seen recently, as well as confessing to it last night.
Then there's golf. More major corporate and international agreements are made on golf courses than in conference and boardrooms.
Almost too much to digest.

(13,006 posts)ETA: never mind, I saw your post #10 which confirmed what you were referring to. But more info in the OP would help. We're not psychic.
Really, we're not all aware of what's being shown on TV, when, and where. And some of us who don't log in all the time may come across your posts many hours after when you posted, so for example, there could have been another interview broadcast elsewhere after the one you were referring to. Context is always helpful.

(24,207 posts)But the economy, but but Isis, but but but the dog ate my homework.
The economy wasn't all that great under him, if that's what he's running on, the 2019 economy with 2% GDP growth, stagnent wages, and piss poor job growth, good luck. And that was before his mismanagement of Covid crushed the US economy in 2020.
And ISIS, not only are they still around, but they were mostly weakened because Trump gave Syria to Russia.
Even FOX News thinks he's going to get convicted.

His problem is that he's too stupid to know what will work and what won't.
That's not crazy. That's just stupid.
