I saw Democratic house, members chanting shame and disgrace. Im thankful they stood up for him.
For the record, he did nothing to be ashamed of, but instead executed his duties with great honor and intelligence.

(64,836 posts)That was too much even for a few scurrilous repugnants.
The fine was removed and led to apparently a party line vote

Could have be 16 cents and still been ridiculous.

(54,897 posts)The resolution to censure Schiff was introduced last week by Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, an ardent Trump supporter. But it faced opposition from some members of her own party because it originally included a potential $16 million fine, which they deemed to be unconstitutional.

(1,381 posts)Unless The NY Times and CNN and the Washington Post all have it wrong
from the NYT: Ms. Lunas initial effort to punish Mr. Schiff failed last week, when the House voted 225 to 196 to table, or kill, her first resolution. Her original effort called for an ethics investigation into Mr. Schiff and a $16 million fine if he was found to have lied.

(14,758 posts)Congressmen have limited staff, and they prioritize constituent emails. That is why most offices, for both parties, now require an in-district address to get through.
These emails would clog their system and interfere with constituent emails.
Maybe use the phone number instead and leave a

(258,934 posts)Wednesday, June 21, 2023, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, responding to the resolution introduced by Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) and backed by MAGA Republicans to censure him in an effort to silence and intimidate him for holding Donald Trump and his allies accountable.
