Death to Putin

For longer than half a century, I’ve generally advocated for nonviolent solutions to disputes. With only a scant handful of exceptions, I’ve stood in opposition to capital punishment. I have always strived toward greater understanding of all factors that influence world events.

For all those reasons, the thoughts I’ve had concerning Russia’s despot have caused some dismay. These thoughts are in conflict with a set of values I’ve cultivated carefully over a long time. Instead of flailing about in a futile attempt to make the situation conform to my values, however, I’ve decided to bust out the walls on my own paradigm.

It’s been building ever since ‘little p’ invaded Ukraine. It was as though a switch had been toggled, prompting a whole series of thoughts about solutions to this problem. None of them end well for Putin. My values and sensibilities aren’t even secondary to what is best for the world.

When rifts started appearing with Wagner Group and Russian military leadership, I half-jokingly suggested that Yevgeny Prigozhin head toward Moscow and take out Putin. Already I was entertaining the notion that Putin must go.

When Putin implied that use of tactical nuclear weapons was on the table, something snapped within me. He had to go, by means legal or extralegal. In subsequent weeks, it became clearer that Putin’s death would provide maximum benefit for the world. The only card he needs is the Ace of Spades.

I am well aware of the dangers inherent to a mercenary army taking control of a nuclear arsenal. Is Putin any more stable? He just unleashed an ecological disaster in Europe that could become a nuclear disaster before it’s over. Decades or centuries from now.

Putin has no shortage of admirers around the world. I’m lookin’ at you, Cheeto Benito. I want all of them to see a metaphorical head on a pike. If it’s literal, that’d be even more effective, I think. Within their mean, brutish, insular minds, not much gets through, with the exception of mortality. Death of their ‘big cheese,’ arguably the most successful autocrat at the moment, would serve as a wake-up call. Who among them want to die for their beliefs? I guess ceaucescu met a grisly end too long ago for their short attention spans.

For all those reasons and more, Vladimir Putin must die. It is only my opinion and not a call to violence or shifting of allegiance or any other action on the part of any individual or state. Still, MFer’s gotta go.
