Throughout the disaster of the Trump era, no one defended, protected, and championed Donald more than his daughter Ivanka - and no one was more openly enamoured of his beloved daughter than dear ol' dad.

And now Ivanka has put as much distance between herself and her father as is humanly possible - refusing to be seen with him, refusing to stand with him during his bid for re-election, refusing to be at his side as he confronts his legal woes - even to the point of changing her last name.

Is Ivanka trying to cover her own ass? Absolutely. Is she choosing to distance herself from her corrupt father out of fear of the consequences of her own potential entanglement in his crimes? Absolutely.

But there is something more telling here - the fact that Ivanka no longer sees Daddy Donald as having the power to protect her from what is about to unfold.

When the Darling Princess acknowledged that her Daddy Dearest is no longer the All-Powerful Ruler of the Castle, the rest of the kingdom should have taken note - and gotten out of town before it was too late.

When Cohn was dying, out of money and favor, his 'best friend' Donald stopped acknowledging his existence, even if they passed on the street. Cohn said Trump "pissed ice water". So does Ivanka. Ivanka doesn't care the least bit what he feels or thinks of her.

She's the only one of the kids that learned this lesson. Don Jr and Eric, on some level, care desperately for their father's approval - I'd say love, but I don't think any one of them has the slightest idea what that means. Tiffany's never even been useful. It's pathetic, given that he doesn't care about them, except for their usefulness. He'll rail and rant about Ivanka's betrayal, but he'd do the same to her in a heartbeat.

I don't know how much Baron is Melania's son or Donald's, but Melania's an opportunist as well. I don't think there's enough therapy in the world to survive this tribe well-balanced.

Anyway, karma's a bitch. I try to be a good person, but I just can't bring myself to care.

mentioned the Ivanka angle from the standpoint of her distancing and that the smartest move she could make would be to flip on "Daddy" and also file for divorce from Jared. The easiest path to cash for her would be the divorce because the family "empire" is just an entangled mess of over leveraged properties, phony promises to people and governments and entanglements with nasty characters from Russia. I also mentioned that the other two kids are a combination of too stupid and too deluded to believe that Daddy is going down and will not think twice about throwing them under the bus to help himself.

The rest of the rodent population around him are hanging in for the grift and future paid appearances to speak to the faithful and appear on friendly TV shows. It remains to be seen how far down the ranks of rats Smith and other prosecutors will go but the sibling rodents certainly have much to fear but are too stupid to see what is coming their way.
