(12,904 posts)As I had with my granddaughters. I am exhausted, but in the greatest way!
That little Beau is handsome.

(4,592 posts)So am I actually. Quite impressive. A U.S. Army wife's point of view lol. Love a man in uniform. But, don't want them to have to go to fight in senseless wars, risking life, limb and sanity.

(10,635 posts)That is so sweet that Hunter named his son after his deceased brother Beau. Makes me tear up a little. I didn't know he'd done that.
Joe's seventh grandchild.

(22,590 posts)I'm sitting cross-legged on my bed right now, so there was no backrest to stop me. I wound up lying on my back with my legs in the air like a capsized turtle, laughing my ass off!

(72,187 posts)The salute of the Marine on the left is a little wonky-looking.
Cute photo, though.
His wrist is bent.

(72,187 posts)But from an Army perspective, it's maybe not the crispest salute ever.
Also Army here and I had to really practice to keep my wrist straight - getting yelled at as a trainee in front of everyone else was good incentive 😁

(16,211 posts)Though I was discharged more than 50 years ago, how to salute has remained. That one could be improved!

(21,777 posts)Uncles army hat. Probably my canteen too? Don't think I got too far but I loved the idea of enlisting at a very young age.
Great photo!

(21,777 posts)seriously about it when I was finally "of age." Did well on testing but ultimately concluded I did not want to be "Government Property." Probably some of my Dad's WWII stories, and Vietnam war had something to do with that. I still respect those who serve, just decided it wasn't what I wanted to do. Tough choices for young adults. If they had let me sign up at age 6, I could have been out at 26!
