I think Trump knows he keeps incriminating himself, but it's his only chance

It seems his strategy is to convince just one juror he is still President, the elected was stolen from him, so he was allowed to keep the documents. He can't win any other way.

He will always have power and special treatment as long as he keeps his cultists with him. Getting back in the White House is literally his get-out-of-jail card.

Trump cannot argue his innocence based on evidence and facts, he must portray himself as a victim.

Everything that Trump is doing right now is to try to keep himself from jail, he must hope for a hung jury. Everything Trump is doing is to taint the jury pool.

He could still be retried after a hung jury.

but behind him is a monster wave about to eat him alive.

The worst of his court cases hasn't hit him yet. He can strategize all he wants, but he's not calculating the next two waves of indictments. And he can't bullshit his way out of his voice recording, laughing about the top secret documents he was showing off. The way that polls work, the electorate won't register their disgust for about 10-14 days. His poll numbers will steadily drop, but he'll lie and pretend that he's more popular than ever. But the GOP (non-criminal) leadership is watching closely, knowing that Trump is going to hit a wall hard and he'll never recover. So in the very near future, Trump's non-criminal lackeys will meet with him and tell him that "it's all over," that the GOP cannot survive with him at the top. That's when he'll say, "Fuck off. I'm running." He'll take his base and make an independent run. He will no longer have a choice. The GOP will collapse, as predicted in 2016 by many. Right now, McCarthy is running a potemkin party. It's hollow inside. Liz Cheney was right. The GOP is intent on electing idiots.

What he had in his hardcore magaloon base would have held out for him. His daily admissions though, is even causing people in places like freeperland to turn on him... And not just a few, there is a fair number (that is growing) that have turned on him and declaring him toast. He is actively lowering the number that would automatically vote not guilty.

He can't change the facts, all he can do now is spin and hope he gets a juror or two who's bought into his BS.
