Headless Body Found In South Bay, Identified After Decades

More than 20 years after her body was found, investigators identified a woman whose headless skeleton was found in a Redondo Beach backyard.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — More than 20 years after police recovered a woman's headless remains from a backyard in the South Bay, authorities identified her as a woman who lost contact with her family in 1981.

The woman was Catherine Parker-Johnson, who disappeared when she was 24 years old, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

Parker-Johnson's identification is a major development in the decades-old cold case that stumped investigators and left her family members with unanswered questions.

2. There was still a lot of experimentation going on in 1981

She could have joined a cult, gone down a major rabbit hole with drugs. It's really sad, but it did happen a lot back then and it's still happening now, although not as frequently.

Her family might be perfectly nice, they got sick of her stealing everything they owned to sell for dope or they got a nice letter from her that told them to fuck off and die, she was off to Europe with $cientology or the Moonies or somebody. Or maybe she was going off to marry somebody they really, really didn't like and the cops will find her killer fast. It's not easy to decapitate a body, it looks like rage.

the Palos Verdes and Redondo areas are expensive areas to live. Not really drug heavy or prostitution areas.
