is that the words don't sync up with his mouth, especially toward the end. That's the obvious part.

Besides the lip-sync issue, it doesn't sound like him and the woman's voice at the beginning sounds automated.

Lastly, it's a little too unrealistic and satirical to be true in context, from the "little bitch" comment to the one person raising his hand. It's unlikely that that many people would go to one of his rallies if none of them intended to vote for him.

Edited to add: I have a slightly more optimistic outlook on this type of thing. Yes I was fooled. I'm a human being and I can get caught out from time to time.

I well remember Jeb Bush's "please clap" cringefest and DeSantis is similarly dorky, unlikeable, and bad at retail politics, so I was primed to believe it. I watched the video once, tossed off a quick response, then logged off and went for dinner. I should have watched it again, or waited to respond.

The good news though is that when I got back I was promptly alerted to the fact that the video was fake, because of course DUers were all over that almost immediately. So, my bad, but props to DU for instant fact-checking and debunking.

Which IMHO imposes some level of responsibility on people to take a moment and look critically at the sources of things they post on DU, and what, if any, independent confirmation there might be for it.

There are some people who have zero respect for other DUers and just uncritically dump garbage on everyone here. Other DUers then distribute this stuff because it came through what is, to them, a trusted source, and eventually get burned and lose credibility with people they know.

It's irresponsible and disrespectful of others.

The voice-over sounds a little mechanical (especially the woman asking the question). Plus, you can't see their mouths when they talk. I think of the possibility that clips may be an AI fake all the time now. There is no way to know definitively.
