General John Allen is being investigated for a possible inappropriate relationship with a woman linked to the Petraeus scandal, Jill Kelley, according to an announcement by the Pentagon.

The FBI probe that was investigating CIA director David Petraeus' relationship with his biographer Paula Broadwell has been expanded to Allen.

From Craig Whitlock at the Washington Post:

According to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of “potentially inappropriate” emails between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close friendship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall.

but for this General, there is actually laws about having affairs if you are active duty military.

My guess is that even Betrayus started the affair before leaving the service.

If you utilize government equipment to access private accounts those accounts are no longer private.

As soldiers and government employees we are warned about this.

If I had hopped on a Yahoo e-mail while working at the U.S. Army Intel Center in Arizona to send some messages to my wife they could see them.

Even if you bring your laptop and utilize their network, it's still their network and generally has a TOS you agree to.

There needs to be an answer as to how/why this investigation got started and who if anybody approved it.

We also need an answer as to why an FBI employee would divulge this information to Eric Cantor and who that employee was.
