This needs to be answered by security and law enforcement officials in the highest offices.
Enough of this effin racist terrorism.

(255,579 posts)And that's what I have always believed, he didn't want the job - and once he had it, he barely did it. The point of the venture for him was the campaign contributions. All of his previous business attempts failed miserably - casinos, Trump steaks, Trump vodka and the infamous Trump university - but this worked so well for him that he kept holding rallies while in office and still is. He has no interest in the job again - unless he believes it'll keep him out of prison, and it gave him a much stronger platform to continue his grifting.

(9,390 posts)Not a clue of what to do with it in the beginning as far as running the country, but immediately began to monetize the office starting with the inauguration. It was both sick and sad to watch.

(26,021 posts)Trump only ran in 2016 for the publicity and the grift. Or that he never wanted the job.
As a fellow NYer, do you remember when Trump wanted to run for governor of NY in 2014? He required that the state Republican Party make him their candidate without having a primary. They refused and he dropped his plan to run. Then he turned to running for president.
I think that both times he wanted a position of political power in order to benefit himself. NY governor was supposed to be a step before the presidency. He loves power and control over others. What could be more powerful that POTUS?

(79,056 posts)where I do not completely agree with you. He tries to convince himself that he is, but on another level, he recognizes that he isn't. This is upsetting to him, because he is convinced that non-white people are inferior to white people. More, the defendent's favorite tactic is to insult people publicly -- Jeb Bush, for example, or "nasty" women -- and he has never gotten over Obama roasting him at the correspondents dinner. He holds grudges tightly.

(79,056 posts)The defendent is the most extreme example of distinct levels of consciousness that I've seen. And there is leakage between levels ..... hence, his intense attempt to "prove" that Obama had not earned the degrees he most certainly had. I'll also point out that the defendent has an awareness of President Obama's uncanny skills in public speaking. Now, individuals like the defendent and Hitler could arouse a crowd by appealing to fear, hatred, and blaming others for their low level of being. (Hence, this OP/thread serves as a perfect example.) Yet others like President Obama, JFK, and MLK could appeal to a crowd's intellect, logic, and better potential.
The defendent wants people to worship him. If he could accomplish that which Obama did by appealing to human nature's better side, he would. But he knows he lacks that capacity -- exactly in the way that my dog lacks the ability to sit down and write a novel. For we know that dogs can only eat a child's homework, not write it up for them.

(79,056 posts)while watching the defendent. I try not to hate, and think (hope?) I've made progress ..... but I found myself having physical responses to the defendent. So I've come to watch him with what Jim Morrison described as "ironic detachment" ..... knowing that millions of people love their projection of who he is, mistaking this as successful ...... while in fact there is no more stark example of a failed human being in America today. One could search the social gutters and prisons across the land, and find not one more pathetic example of a wasted life than that man. And, hopefully, there will soon come a time when one could find him in a prison.
