Michigan man accused of assaulting police officer with flagpole in Jan. 6 Capitol riot

A recently-arrested Michigan man faces several felony and misdemeanor charges – including assaulting a police officer with a flagpole – stemming from his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 riots on Capitol Hill.

Jeremy Rodgers, 28, of Midland is charged with assault on a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, civil disorder, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon and an act of physical violence in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Rodgers is also charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, an act of physical violence in a Capitol building or on Capitol grounds and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, officials said in a news release.

Rodgers was arrested in Orlando, Florida and made his first court appearance Friday, June 30 in the Middle District of Florida, officials said.

Looks like Mr Rodgers is going to be spending some real time on the inside. Assaulting an officer with a flagpole. Should be worth around 5 years. Lots of counts of, with a dangerous weapon.

Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Go fuck yourself Mr Rodgers I hope you serve a long and miserable prison sentence. I hope it is awful, you are scared and your life sucks. You are a piece of shit.

I remember the famous photo of a moron attacking a man in Boston with a flagpole. Story below.

http://dragonwolf121.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-soiling-of-old-glory.html

The name of this image is The Soiling of Old Glory, taken by Stanley Forman in 1976 during a series of protests against court-ordered desegrated busing and the winner of 1977 Pulitzer Prize.

The man under attack in the image is Ted C. Landsmark, a remarkable Boston figure who is a lawyer, a civil rights activist, and the president of the Boston Architectural College. Back in 1976, he was also the properietor of a small, non-profit Boston art gallery who sent all monetary benefits to the artists that displayed in it. This art gallery had only one employee-- my mother, then only twenty-four years old, getting her masters in fine art downtown. She says he was a very cool man. And I think it's cool that she knew him.
