Republicans like Graham, McCarthy, even McConnell, in the leadership veteran positions, as well as other hopefuls waiting in the wings to benefit like MTG, Boebert, Lake and others, are all counting on their loyalty to the cult paying off in the end. And with voting restriction laws, polling station closures in strategic districts, disinformation campaigns with help from RW media, they just might win. And they know that and are salivating at the concept.

The rewards out do the present pain. Lindsey knows that no matter how much his local crowd boos him, as long as he keeps licking Trump's feet, Trump will reward him once he regains power, and Lindsey can have anything he wants, screw the local constituents. And screw the Republican party too. At least any basic principles they may have once held.

They are all dreaming of living in a Fascist America where the privileged elites like them have all the rights to unlimited power, no more democracy, no more opposition, no more freedom of the press to malign them. Like the characters in the film Salo, they can be as brutal, deviant, violent, and sadistic without consequence. Graham fantasizes no doubt with thoughts of living like the old emperor did in Caligula, swimming in luxury pools with naked boys swimming and entertaining him. Or some such thing. Ted Cruz, Gym Jordon, MGT, they all are dreaming of this future time when they can shed the Constitutional protections for anyone opposing their authority.

Bush was only half joking when he said it would be easier if it was a dictatorship. The next wave like DeSantis are actively working towards that.
