Death of Democracy in America - The Republican Endgame

Truth is, the Republican party has been working toward the death of democracy in America for quite some time.

From back when conservative think tanks and groups like the Heritage Foundation and their affiliates dictated policymaking to Republican politicians like Ronald Reagan. Back when their various right winged PACS and interests like the Kochs and Mercers held little pow-wows and retreats with right winged judges like Scalia and Thomas.

And when their Federalist Society provided Republican presidents and lawmakers with lists of potential judgeships comprised of far right ideologues.

Back when their "war" on drugs wasn't yet a "crisis" (as it is now with opioids) and back when they and their right winged media outlets like Fox, promoted and promulgated thinly veiled, racist, dog-whistle rhetoric and anti-democratic propaganda on a 24/7 basis. Just like they still do NOW.

The coming of Trump was only the culmination of that ongoing effort. He was only the full EMBODIMENT of all the hate based venom they were already trafficking in.

So it was NO wonder that his rabble rousing diatribes were so readily devoured by right winged voters, above ALL other contenders. And why they love him STILL.

And now that they can see their goals on the horizon, they've unabashedly pulled out ALL the stops, their sights set on nothing less than a fascist, authoritarian MINORITY RULE style of government founded upon hate based nationalistic sentiment. And they are acting, non stop, towards advancing those ends.

They are doing so via radical far-right rulings of a rogue conservative led Supreme Court, hell bent on ignoring precedence and rewriting law (if not the Constitution itself), resulting in an undermining of civil rights,

via multi-pronged attacks upon the right to vote, mail-in ballots and absentee voting, voter led initiatives and referendums, election boards and officials, and voter access,

via their constant promotion and embrace of Trump/GOP inspired racism and hate towards Jews, minorities, immigrants, the gay community, and anyone else they choose to "other,"

via their continued retrogressive and inhumane assault upon healthcare, women's health, child nutrition programs, public assistance programs, and other social safety nets that help PEOPLE,

via their assault upon EDUCATION,

via the rise of far right religious fanaticism blended with the conspiracy theory lunacy of QAnon,

and via their legitimizing of an attempted COUP and OVERTHROW OF THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS by way of a fake elector CONSPIRACY, and a subsequent PLANNED, Trump led Capitol Insurrection.

They've done so by turning the GOP into A CULT that embraces and even applauds hateful divisive rhetoric, violence and mean-spirited cruelty.

THEIR ENDGAME is nothing less than the DEATH OF DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA and the establishment of a fascist, nationalistic authoritarian state.

On the second paragraph…Texas…your assessment sounds spot on.

I really don’t want that RW poison coming north when Texas starts becoming uninhabitable.

I'm glad I never had kids. I'd have been a great Dad, and honestly, I'd always wanted a Son. But the world is so screwed up today. I'm glad. What we are leaving them is a catastrophe.

Come out. I think the push back is real by the greater majority. I would point to all the special elections, the 2020 election and the midterms which have favored the Dems. The RW best elections are all behind them. Also, tfg is really losing his sway. He called for violence in NYC and Miami when he indicted, a handful of ppl showed up. NYC one would expect that outcome, he’s hated there, but Miami, that’s the lair’s nest

Is this a rough ride right now, yes. We’ve seen times like this before. When tfg is resoundingly defeated in ‘24 I think there will be a shift, but it’s going to take another decade for gen Z and the millennials to really restructure voting with huge shifts to the left.

Let’s hope so.

But the right’s war on democracy continues as conservatives pursue their agenda intended to establish and maintain the tyranny of Republican minority rule.

And how the hell do they think Americans are going to elect a thrice-indicted, twice-impeached, coup-attempting, womens'-rights-snatching, possible jailbird by the '24 election, a-hole to the WH?

Ain't gonna happen.

...former United States Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich released a new video on [July 4] explaining that Republican Party is exploiting wedge culture war issues to make Americans less free.

The two-minute spot begins with Reich saying that "Republicans love to claim they're the party of freedom," which he calls, "Bullsh*t."

..."in reality," Reich continued, "the Republican agenda centers on taking away freedom.

The pukes are loyal to the Ancien Régime: the idea that a king and a chosen few are superior to the many, they consider themselves a royalty chosen by God or capitalist beneficiaries of a peculiar meritocracy and thus born entitled to rule, own, and subjugate humanity and enslave “sub-humanity” to make the future theirs; that is, to continue to make the rich richer and the poor poorer, the Feudalist Society.
