[link:http://|Donald Trump: I could "shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters"]
"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?"
I thought he was being hyperbolic, I guess I had a higher opinion of the American voter.
I was wrong, he was right about those who vote for him, and it is way too many who do.

(24,166 posts)Trump is losing support. He is less and less electable in 2024 as we go along.

(56,187 posts)Most of his Covid policies were pro-virus. Contempt for masks, promoting personal "freedom" over saving lives, contempt for business closures and self-isolating, weak on vaccines, and even holding rallies during a pandemic. Wtf.
He helped spread the virus and encouraged others to spread the virus. He likely got a few hundred thousand more people killed than was necessary.
Yes, he's starting to fade somewhat, but I think this is largely due to the indictments over mishandling of classified information and his loss of his Twitter megaphone. Plus it's not clear what will happen if he wins the Republican nomination. It's entirely plausible to expect the media to revert to treating him like a must-watch reasonable contender to the presidency and propagandizing for him like they did in 2016.

(37,340 posts)I see he is the absolute favorite among Republicans and is in a virtual tie with Biden.
Someone who has done the things he did should poll under 10%, and yet he has every chance to win in 2024.
