(6,979 posts)He gets very little credit as you rightfully said. Is blamed for things tRump never did correctly or at all, the mostly corporate media is almost non-existent--they're in it for the clicks which leads to ad revenue, and far lefty's are actually blaming Pres. Obama's presidency and the vice-presidency of Joe Biden for the rise of tRump. I read that on twitter yesterday, and I haven't gone back on there since
I almost hate the far left as much as I hate Magat's, except that magat's have power and the far lefty's who are putin-like IE: The Greenwald crowd talk just to hear themselves talk. IF Pres. Biden offends them so much, then why not just bounce their asses on over to Russia. Yeah, enjoy watching their leader--one of the 5 murderous Putin dictator's doing pressers in between allegedly running away to safety like the chicken that he is, enjoy the scenery from amongst the smoke, burned out/blown up bridges, and the smell of death and destruction in the air. Problem solved
I read what 'they' said about Pres. Obama's presidency/Joe's vice-presidency on twitter yesterday and I haven't gone back on there since.

(19,286 posts)You're starting to see some more credit taking, but over his 2-1/2 years he's known when to speak up and when to keep hush about something that is really good to ensure that it will happen.
On Student Loans he's been a master and shown remarkable discipline. His $10K and $20K forgiveness would have been good, but they were a misdirection to some degree in my opinion. The real relief he provided was in changing the Pay As You Earn rules and getting them enacted early and without any fanfare. In my estimation, the student loan debt crisis has been solved by Biden. Not with forgiveness, but with changing PAYE to 5% of adjusted gross income from the 10% it used to be, and changing the adjustment from 1.5 times the poverty income to 2.25 times the poverty rate. A family of 2 making $100K a year went from a $625 payment, to a $250 a month payment. And he's changed the rules around interest, it doesn't accrue when you're in this program (which everyone is defaulted into). There is forgiveness after 20 years of payments no matter what balance remains. There are people who will hae no payments under this plan. It makes payments affordable for everyone. Sure, will still be like a car payment for people, and that's a bummer, but I can't think of a scenario where payments aren't reasonable no matter what anyone owes.
Biden has been perfect on this, he could easioly have touted his new PAYE all along, but then Republicans would have moved heaven and earth to stop it. Instead he used forgiveness as a decoy and got the more meaningful repayment changes through administratively. He's a Zen Master, he's delivering results even when he can't take credit. The results matter more to him than the credit.

And the student debt crisis is only 1/2 of the problem, we still have to do somthing about the soaring costs of college, but I believe Biden has some plans on that half too.
I mean, going to college will now mean going forward that you're just pledging 5% of your adjusted income to pay for it the first 20 years you work. I think that's a bargain 95% of college grads would have made going into it. College grads make on average 84% more than high school grads per year, so that 5% is a bargain.
Grad school is handled a little differently uner the new plan, but there are still big savings.

It makes me so sad to think of the abuse and strenuous opposition youve faced, sir, all of it while youre trying to help people.

(6,257 posts)Souza did such wonderful work with Obama, showing his seriousness and his joyfulness.
Aside from this one, you never see Souza-like photographs of Biden.
I think he was ready to retire though.

(16,818 posts)moments of relaxation when he smoked his "sweet hemp" after a long day. God knows everyone needs to pause and reflect. Oh and he wrote the Emancipation Proclamation there. It's a very serene spot, if you have a chance.

(2,043 posts)Hate to make you go there, but contrast this touching picture of Joe on the steps of the White House with the image of Mango Mussolini sitting on his golden toilet. Who, I ask, is the real president of the people? Joe is, of course.

(3,943 posts)Biden has turned into one of the best Presidents of my almost 60 years. I look at the list and he's near the top.
I put Obama, Clinton, and Biden in my top three. It's funny because Reagan was the first I ever voted for when I turned 18 and was in the Navy. He presented the image of a strong Commander in Chief. But as I've gotten older I've educated myself on policy, economy, healthcare, social programs, my views have really changed. Education is powerful. Reagan was an actor and he played the part.
The Republican I have the highest esteem for is Gerald Ford. While he pardoned Nixon (a mistake IMO) I view him positively because he never sought the executive branch. He was appointed VP and became President only by resignation. A WW2 veteran who sermed to just want to serve people. I don't agree with a lot of his policies, but I kind of view him like President Carter. A "Good Person". After four years of Trump, I think that's even more important today. I never detected hate or anger from Ford or Carter.
