Minnesota DFL legislator arrested on suspicion of DWI
Rep. Dan Wolgamott, DFL-St. Cloud, was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol on Friday for suspicion of driving while impaired in Kanabec County about 85 miles north of St. Paul.
Wolgamott, who is serving his third term in the House, was booked into the Kanabec County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree DWI.
Kanabec County dispatch on Friday received a complaint involving a Lincoln and someone drinking in a liquor store parking lot, according to the State Patrol incident report. At about 6 p.m. on Friday, the trooper located the vehicle driving on Highway 23 in Arthur Township, Minnesota.
The Lincoln appeared to be weaving within its lane, according to the incident report, and the trooper made a traffic stop and Wolgamott was identified as the driver.
During the troopers interaction with Wolgamott, the trooper observed signs of alcohol impairment, the report states.
