The smoky air from Canada was hitting us here in northern NY pretty bad but not Vermont. Vermonters are so lucky, I thought. Just like I thought we were lucky for not having wildfires like California. But now the effects of climate change are hitting everywhere in one form or another.

Water may accumulate in spots and stay but rushing water like this, for days, is unusual.

a long process of cleanup, AND expensive if you don't have federal flood insurance, which I didn't. Lost a good chunk of our savings.
