Nice to know.....NOT. Eric Clapton tried to give to Kennedy Jr campaign.......gave to much.

British guitarist Eric Clapton attempted to make a donation supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s U.S. presidential run but the campaign refunded his contribution, which “went way over the legal limit,” Insider reported Friday.
The three-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee seemingly tried to give the anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist $5,000 for his Democratic White House bid before the donation was flagged for a “Refund in subsequent period,” according to a federal election filing.

a long time ago - he spewed a racist rant on stage in 1976. He's tried to walk it back at times, and maybe he had become less xenophobic before COVID hit, but COVID brought back his right wing roots.

And is a fairly accurate reflection of actual positions Mr Clapton holds, and has held. Great musician - and sadly a bit 'bent' as a human being.

Seems like his being British would be a big red flag as well…
But racist, anti-vaxx, RFKJr is his perfect candidate.

In the 60s he complained about Hendrix getting more groupies because he was black.
In the 70s he called for all n-words and foreigners to get out of England.
His excuse, he was drunk.

I saw him in concert in 1990 and he used the "I have a dream" speech as background to one of his songs. The Beatles were also ready to cancel a concert in Jacksonville if it wasn't integrated.

Eric Clapton - Hands of slow, feet of clay!

A statement I coined during his anti-vaxx rants that also includes his drunken 1976 racist concert rant "Keep Britain White." (Spoken by a man who made his livelihood on the music of Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson.)

...that got the British vax and had severe consequences including motor skills.
He wasn't antivax (but was anti-shutdown, even though it was for public health reasons) until he supposedly got sick after the shot.
I don't know that it's been independently confirmed that the reaction was that severe nor clearly traced to the vaccine.
But, he has his mind made up.

... useful guitarist, but there are many as good or (dare I say it) better. Hell, one of "his" most famous licks was actually played by Duane Allman.

Jamil shared a screengrab of a transcript of the moment an "extremely drunk" Clapton asked "foreigners" at a 1976 show to raise their hands before suggesting they "should all leave."

"Not just leave the hall, leave our country... I don't want you here, in the room or in my country," he said in part.

"The Black w--- and c---- and Arabs and f------ Jamaicans don't belong here, we don't want them here," Clapton added on stage then, using blatant racist slurs. "This is England, this is a white country, we don't want any Black w--- and c---- living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome."

The rant went on as he called England "a white country" made "for white people."
