So how are Abbott and the MAGA racists in Texas reacting to the huge numbers of Indo-Americans

Showing up for the Major League Cricket T20 tournament in Texas.
Never have I seen so many Sub-continentals in one place in the USA.
Looks like it sure has loads of money backing it.

Texas and North Carolina DUers please weigh in. I am interested in the socio-cultural impact.

Mainly, even if they were aware of "Indo-Americans" they wouldn't know where India was. marble falls Jul 2023 #2

I went to a super Walmart last week and I was one of the few non Indian folk there, and that included the workers

really nice people. Well run stores too.

I thought the old man must be pretty good one morning when it was really cold. I didn't even want to get out of my truck to pump gas and he was out there rigging up speakers. Music at the pumps.

The Grand Prairie Stadium is between Dallas and Fort Worth. Dallas is a solidly Democratic city and Fort Worth is fairly evenly split. Texans are used to lots of strangers in town for major events like the Formula One races and South by Southwest. The racists only complain when minorities move into their neighborhoods and go to their local schools. They’re fine with foreigners (described as anyone not a Texan) spending their money in local businesses.

Neighboring Fort Bend County has a South Asian county judge.
In neighboring Waller County, there is a huge cricket complex.
A section of southwest Houston is officially called The Gandhi District, though nobody calls it that.

Abbott can kiss my ass.

Got some great meals, too. Paid for from what I saved from not having to have it shipped.

(Collin County). There was a very large southeast asian community in that part of the metroplex. One of the middle schools in our district (Plano) that was a feeder school for our senior high school (PSHS) was something like 60% Asian when my older daughter was in school. There were Southeast Asians who regularly played cricket on the field behind our elementary school as far back as I can remember (20+ years ago). So, none of this surprises me.

The league has big money and major connections with the Indian cricket establishment. One of the commentators is the great Sunil Gavaskar.
