We had a road rage murder in our city this past week. They have named the shooter, but did not say that he was a former Correctional officer and cleet instructor in the state. He also appears that he worked as a police officer for a short time. I went out and searched his twitter and facebook pages and was not surprised that he showed lots of pictures of firearms, as well as posting and reposting angry tweets about everything including Donald Trump's "persecution". He had one scary post about would you fight if war came to the US, and one about BLM.
I say this to remind us these people are nuts, they are angry and armed. I honestly don't know how we get our country back to normal after this man and his followers.

(6,319 posts)Cops are often psychopaths who have no empathy. They invite confrontation and then pull their gun out and kill you, claiming self defense.

(51,308 posts)I know nothing about it, but sounds like two idiots as it usually is with road rage.
You certainly seem to have the second sight since you can read the unknown, I guess, because I wouldn't even try to guess what bumper stickers either he or the other guy had on their vehicles.
I'm also trying to figure out an "aggressive bumper sticker". Do they snarl? Are they 3-D?
I have seen one that says "my kid can beat up your honor student", which seemed a wee bit aggressive, but that was years ago.

(51,308 posts)I googled the case, and I got any number of local stories that all reported his background in LE.

Moral of the story, if you shoot someone in a road rage incident, make sure your Twitter account is already deleted.

(114,661 posts)My parents moved to the south during a Klan resurgence so I know all too well that these people have always been out there in one form or another. They've always been hateful, angry, and armed.
The only difference is having a national figure to coalesce around, a malignant narcissist who won't stop until we stop him.
The good news is that the number of these nutjobs seems to be decreasing, leaving only a nasty core of wigged out assholes like the road rage guy.
Our laws prevent us from grabbing these people off the street, incarcerating them, deprogramming them, and turning them loose. They have to do something wrong first, and it's usually awful.

(11,282 posts)Especially their veiled threats posed as questions about "would you fight?"...
Yes. Yes I would fight. But not in ways that you mouth-breathing, gun-humping, Y'all-queda fools think. I would not pick up a shotgun or AR-15 and stand toe-to-toe in a field with you to trade gunfire. I would not volunteer to join a militia or lay siege to rebel property.
I would become your absolute worst nightmare - a chemically and biologically educated guerilla that would make you WISH for "Breaking Bad" style "Say my name" events. I would smile to your face and count on your stupidity and ignorance to not notice me poisoning your water supply or killing off your crops or introducing lethal levels of mercury and lead into your homes. I would find a myriad of ways to fight you, to resist, to defeat you. And not a goddamn thing your guns can do would save you from my vengeance and righteous indignation at having to dispose of surplus population in such terrible ways.
To those out there that would threaten to destroy the nation in service to Trump or misguided ideology?
Fuck around and find out assholes.
Try me. But don't later say you were not warned.
One of the side-effects of a life spent trying to save things and extend life is that you become intimately acquainted with things that end life as a by-product, things that are frighteningly easy to obtain and dispense.
It does not take guns or bombs to kill indescriminately...it only takes knowledge and will.
I have one already. If they act out their violent fantasies, they will provide me with the other.
Not a threat, a promise.
